2gen will always be special for me. The songs from T-ara, 2NE1 and Sistar will always get played.

I got into k-pop during the 2nd gen era,so I will always have a special fondness towards those songs.

Some GGs who aren't as talked about today but are amazing and were pretty popular

Yes, second gen does not get enough recognition as fans seem to be besotted with current gen. I got into K pop in second gen in 2011 and there were some great songs and groups and some are memorable to me to this day. It was also a time where imo K pop was less manufactured and westernized. It was also less sexualized than today. 2NE1 and Super Junior were my first introductions to it and helped me to become a fan of those groups. They were good days but it's sad how a lot of those groups have either disbanded or inactive nowadays. They certainly influenced and paved the way for a lot of the current groups especially SM groups. I will always be fonder of the second generation. It's just not the same anymore.

How about the collabs? Collabs and a high variety level with lots of cross-group interactions in music and variety shows is what 2nd gen era were best at and what made K-pop so much more entertaining not just as music genre but as overall entertainment scene
