I think this is only for songs released this year. More songs from the artist will make them appears more in people playlist and make them place higher while Bts only have 3 single this year. There's poll done about Koreans favorite artist by age and Bts dominating almost all.

I wonder what this popularity list was based on. Probably a survey. Because some of the groups don’t even chart well on melon. These were the top artistes for each demography based on melon listeners this year. Kinda makes sense why Nct dream will chart since they actually had Hot sauce charting. Okay so this is just analysis by a random guy who added Melon likes of all the songs released this year to come to this conclusion. This isn't anything official as such lol.....
I was kinda bewildered after reading the OP and this title saying "most popular artists" tbh because Melon themselves showed the stats during MMAs & this list is totally different from that.....
I mean 'Butter' alone did better than all the songs released by all of these boy groups in the lists combined on Melon so the list wasn't making sense till I read this article.
It now makes sense after reading that someone added all the likes of the songs released till November in 2021 otherwise Oh My Girl would have made all the lists over here if it was really Melon data of "most popular artists" in 2021.
This was a good laugh though
