Anyway, for some people melon can be a blessing. Not everyone is as successful as NCT and other kpop artists. For artists, melon could be the thing that is helping them survive.

There're so many instances, the first thing they checked after their song were released is melon charting and they looks very happy when their song charted high on Melon in their behind content. So yes they take that site very seriously.

Melon charting is important not because of the money they give artists ,but because brands, media and companies look at these numbers to pick which group will they contact next

Stayc got a viral hit that charted well on melon while weeekly got a viral hit on Youtube and tiktok that didn't chart on melon. Both sold around the same physically back then. Guess which group got all the cfs and love calls from the industry?

sometimes charting high there is the very first step at landing that very first CF deal, getting that album sales increased or even securing more concert ticket sales.
