Well, i have never felt beholden to one group. I got into Kpop because of BP and they're still my top bias in terms of music and success, but its not like i swore a blood oath to them lol. I'll watch what i wanna watch, listen to what i wanna listen. As a fan, it's incredibly difficult to stan a group that literally does nothing for months on end. I thought this was maybe a superstar kinda thing, once a Kpop group gets to be massive, maybe they just stop putting out fanservice and then i looked at BTS' YT site and i see like 22 videos in the past month or some shit like that.

Why do some people act as if being a fan of only one group means you only listen to this group music though? Never heard of casual listeners?

Shading multis is stupid but implying only stanning one group is weird is not really better imo.

the concept of loyalty in kpop is overrrated and stupid.

a fan should support a comeback/song because they like it and not because they are loyal to the artist. this kind of misguided loyalty is the reason many fans seem incapable of criticising their faves or accepting any negative opinions about them, not to mention the reason they also weirdly seem to like everything their faves release equally. Take it easy, this is not a war or a life and death matter. your personal entertainment and enjoyement should be your main motive, not loyalty.

BTS are my ult group ever in my whole long life, but I’m damned if that means I’m going to limit myself to only devoting my time, energy and enjoyment to them. I mean, they are big supporters of getting as wide a musical education as you can allow in your life too…

But if another person wants to devote all their time or energy to one group that’s fine. I’d just *personally* find that a bit stifling.

I mean being a multi fan also means you never get bored or starved of content.

When TWICE is on break, I can enjoy ITZY/Aespa, when they're on break I can enjoy Blackpink, when they're on break I can enjoy Brave Girls/Hyuna, etc.

It isn't marriage.

You don't have to be loyal to 1 company, group or idol to the exclusion of all other groups.

I think that most K-pop fans realize that very well, maybe only the very young K-pop fans or extreme hardcore stans think black & white like that

I main BTS because I frankly don't find anything worthwhile in other kpop groups. But I'm also not just listening to BTS daily; I've got metal and hard rock and many other genres and artist. I'm good.
