I was considering choosing her as a bias

I think I'll pick Haerin or Hanni

snsd already had a full career behind them in 2014 and jessica was gonna leave next year anyway. not permantly i guess but still.
they still had a semi fonctioning and not alltoghether hostile company where they worked.
nj's case is honestly so cruel. they waren't even 2 years old when this mess started

ps: and they were so YOUNG!

she filmed the song divine with ot9.
what happened in this case was very very heartbreaking. but she did apparently intended to not renew and pursuie her fashion/business goals.
but the way it all happened was very shocking and suprising. sm just cut her out of snsd, like erased her in a week

!She's never stated an intention to leave SNSD. All we have are "apparentlys," "supposedlys" and "reportedlys."
They failed to erase her as quickly as they would have liked to.

Joke aside, for SNSD case it didn't matter at that point. The group wasn't even supposed to last 5 years, after that anything could happen and still didn't affect anyone too much.
It might be harder for Newjeans, but at least they still have the GP (based on Gallup and streaming this year) and huge fanbase. And it's not like Ador can't find a replacement, there were many cases of groups became even more popular after line up changes.

Idols should learn to look at their contract. It doesn't matter how big a star you are, how many records you sell or how many fans you have or how matter fans shouting their support for you. All these have no legal basis to support you in the court of law. And really, I think the international fans seem to think that South Korea's legal system is as good as a Kangaroo court the way they don't even respect the court decisions and still yell their idol are unfairly treated.
-
And really, I think the international fans seem to think that South Korea's legal system is as good as a Kangaroo court...
I mean, what do you expect when so many people get away with genuinely heinous crimes there with merely a slap on the wrist? People think S. Korea's legal system is a joke because of its reputation at large, not because they don't agree with the outcome of NewJeans' case, although it's just a fact of life that courts get things wrong all the time. They aren't infallible.

Ya. That is a long argument which I don't want to get into. Even in my country the law is not prefect and corrupted. But it is the people of that country's law and they are the ones living with it. They don't seem to find a problem with it or try to change it. Why should outsiders be to comment.
All, I'm saying is the fans act like the judge and jury most of the time when it it suits them especially when it comes to the laws of other countries.

People should criticize dumb laws and judges in every country

Becareful which country you are in or visiting. Good Luck.

No, but they tried to financially ruin her by way of blacklisting. She doesn't have a reliable source of income within Korea thanks to SM.
-
whats her role in the group anyway

No this is way worse. Jessica wasn’t sued or asked to pay anything as far as I know.
Plus isn’t the case of New jeans is that all members wanted to get out from their mistreating company but they were not allowed to unless they go into insane amount of debt that the company knows they can’t pay? The fact that they singled her out now doesn’t make us forget when the other members were with her on this.
I don’t know how the system works but I believe penalty fees should be something reasonable and decided by an established law or the court. Like how the fuck do they get to decide a ridiculous number randomly?
And don’t tell me the members are indebted to the company investing on them when NJ’s success undeniably returned the money spent on them like every other group and more.
All I am seeing is a slave contract, and to minors.
-
Probably they won't. Most groups never mentioned ex problematic members.
-

She's their lead vocalist.

This goes for the entire world you know. The President of the United States of America is likely a pedophile and was buddies with a child trafficker for years, the former President of the United States of America is likely a pedophile, and was buddies with a child trafficker for years, MIT, Harvard scientists and philosophers were buddies with the said child trafficker, so were JP Morgan bankers, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince, a Prince of England, an associate of the Princess of Sweden, the former Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Israel and the list goes on. Yet there's no accountability for them.

It goes without saying that powerful people get to abuse that power to avoid punishment for their crimes. Trump literally ran for president a second time for the purpose of escaping a potential prison sentence. But I wasn't referring to particularly powerful people escaping deserved punishment, but rather lax punishments even for nobodies off the street.
-
Even other groups barely can mention kicked out members

I give a benefit of doubt to the Korean legal system though. It is a developed democratic country. It cannot be that the legal system is unjust. I'm sure the lawyers would have brought up the point of mistreatment and financial burden in their argument. If not, the lawyers in Korea are really sub standard. Even a poor layman like me would have insisted on this point.

I can’t really think of a group that mentioned kicked out members. I don’t even think they can interact with one another’s social media accounts
I guess in recent years we had Shuhua post Soojin’s hand on IG. Then there was moments where nmixx accidentally mentioned Jini. Also Jini posted a nmixx song on her ig story. Hyoyeon also acknowledged Jessica on a live. Other than that I can’t really think of a kicked out member interacting with another member on social media . They can still talk to other members but most likely not on SNZ because of an nda

Tricky because I will say post-renewal but it wasn't official until like a week after. They most likely signed by then. I know the Shuhua and Soojin IG post was post-renewal.

I don't know why people want to compare everything. Jessica is Jessica, Danielle is Danielle. And the two cases are not connected at all. Comparing apples and bananas.
-
The two story is not even similar. If anything, this whole NJ mess is similar to 5050 or whichever girl group was that sued their agency and some members signed with the same company later still. I think it was 5050.
Tatiana1820, don't make me unite with Daisy.😂
-
I mean, if HYBE/ADOR won't dungeon them, the same thing gonna happen to them too. This is the most basic thing in every contract. You can't mention past members because it can ruin the image of the company and the group even more.
Tbh, if I'm a NewJeans fan, and they won't disband, the best way to boycott these companies is to stop buying NJ merch/albums, tickets and stop listening to their music, but Kpop stans are not that smart.
