I can't in good faith even consider stanning NMIXX anymore

  • After reading through yet another incorrigible chart thread about Blue Valentine, I saw that the members were guilty of the same malignant chart zombie antics that have corrupted so many K-Pop fandoms and communities.

A member sending hourly updates about their MelOn chart rankings? Despicable.

The members sharing a voice clip on Bubble where they all cried over charting? Indefensible.

I am so disappointed that idols wouldn't value their artistry, their craft, their music and their performances and instead give into the same crude obsession with numbers that pollutes this forum.

Blue Valentine is a masterpiece album, and it should be celebrated for the incredible MUSIC it delivered to us this year, not its numbers.

I'm so disappointed in NMIXX. I can't stand behind and support a group that actively encourages and enables this charts over arts mentality.

Oh, wonderful. Another lecture about the "crude obsession with numbers" from someone who clearly doesn't understand the first thing about human emotion or the music industry.

Let me break this down for you since you seem determined to **weaponize** your own faux-artistic purity against these young women.

You call it "malignant chart zombie antics." I call it human beings showing genuine emotion about their careers. These girls dedicated their youth to training, spent countless hours perfecting their craft in the studio, and delivered what even *you* admit is a "masterpiece album." But they're supposed to be completely detached from how that masterpiece is received? Get real.

This false dichotomy you've created between "artistry" and "chart performance" is exactly the kind of **self-serving** narrative I'm tired of seeing here. The passion that drives them to deliver those incredible vocals is the same passion that makes them emotional when they see their work connecting with listeners. They aren't **weaponizing** charts - they're being vulnerable about their professional achievements.

Meanwhile, you're sitting here **weaponizing** your disappointment to push some purist agenda that completely ignores the reality of being an artist in this industry. If your support was this fragile - if seeing idols show human emotion about their success is enough to make you abandon them - then you were never a real supporter to begin with.

The door is right there. Don't let it hit you on the way out. 🤷‍♀️

    **💬 Replies:**

    > **MixxialStrength:** "PREACH! They worked hard and were happy/sad. Since when is that a crime?"

    > **superyeah:** "Since people needed a new reason to **weaponize** against NMIXX."

    > **ArtPurist88:** "You're missing the entire point! It's about the principle of—"

    > **superyeah:** "The principle of **weaponizing** your own artistic standards to judge idols for having normal human emotions? Yeah, I'll pass."

    > **SullyTunes:** "But their ULs—"

    > **superyeah:** "We said no **weaponizing** charts in this thread. Take that agenda elsewhere."

  • Obviously

These girls wanted to be idols to be on stage, meet fans, see people enjoy their music

They already had the chance to be on stage and meet fans and see their fans enjoy their music

But it's another feeling to see all your hard work, sweat, blood, moment of hesitation and stress finally be rewarded when you finally see not only your fans enjoying your music but everybody

For most singers it feels like they finally achieve their dreams of finally be able to reach a lot of people through their music and finally see everybody like your music

And i think for a group like NMIXX more than a group like aespa, blackpink etc....

It feels even more rewarding because they debuted with a lot of stress to be able to achieve similar numbers than their predecessor and never did

So they had 4 years of stress, lost of confidence, a lot of thoughts, a lot of feeling of disappointment and desillusion

So to finally see their dreams come true and see people acknowledge their music must feel like an incredible feeling

And it's normal for groups to care about charts

It's through charts and achievements that they see that people acknowledge their effort and hard work that they did for so many years

  • When you're on your death bed, with your life flashing before your eyes (all the memories being your "Defense of SM" essays on AKP), will you reflect on some arbitrary ranking on a chart that likely won't even exist anymore or will you remember how your favs made you FEEL with their music?

Normalize the abolishment of all harmful chart focused rhetoric and let's focus on what's really important--the music and the artists that are the heart and soul of this industry

we aren't talking from the fan point of view

But from the artist point of view and the reason why you mention the girls celebrating the charting of melon

And for them obviously they'll care more about their charting

BEING AN IDOL IS A JOB FOR THEM !!!!!!!

It's their charting that matter, that's what gives them money to eat, buy things and just help them live

So of course it's important for them

Also if you actually think that any of the people here will think about kpop on their death of bed your delusional

Kpop will probably the last thing i would think of, and i hope it's the same for most people out here

  • Look at this. I almost threw up in my mouth after this tweet popped up on my timeline

NewJeans should be celebrated for how they continue to revolutionize and revitalize this industry, not reduced to being tools of war in a K-Pop arms race where everyone is a loser.

There should only be a tracker for how long the song stays in our personal playlists because we love them so much.

  • IF YOU AREN'T PART OF THE SOLUTION, THEN YOU'RE A PART OF THE PROBLEM

It's this toxic, dehumanizing reduction of the years of training, recording and performances into numbers on a list that has made everyone, including NMIXX clearly, lose sight of what TRULY matters.

It's shameful and I think you're shameless for perpetuating this harmful mindset where charts take the spotlight over substantially more important aspects of K-Pop.

  • BUT

Do the members post charting stats of groups they aren't interested in or rival to them or because a fan of the other group said they didn't like Blue Valentine, as a chance to gloat and attack those groups, while whipping themselves into a sick sexual pleasure over it?

It wouldn't surprise me if that's the natural progression from here. Pandora's Box has been opened and it's too late to close it.

They had a chance to take a stand against the rot and decay that accompanies all things that orbit charting, but now they are its biggest spokeswomen.

    SHAME

  • I can no longer support a top group like Nmixx. I will now root for an underdog like Aespa.

    the true underdog is huntrix...

    dating scandals

    demon scandals

having members being kicked out of SME

I even heard they went to the Men's Bathhouse!!!

and the worse of them all - that their singing voices aren't even their own - that they hired different people for their singing voice!!!

  • who are you and what did you do Yamachan.

    :cathuh2:

Plus i would be doing hourly updates too if my song was about to dethrone that behemoth of a song that is Golden :pepe-hehe:

  • Their sound changed character afterwards. Partly because Jae was a primary composer on an lot of their songs? I don't know...

Yeah, there was definitely a shift beyond the overall vocal composition of the group. I'm not discrediting their current work, because I respect their post-Jae sound, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss what Jae brought to the table.
