    1st - Ian - despite being only 15 her popularity is undeniable! Ian’s created multiple trends already and has topped individual ranking despite debuting 5 months ago! I think she’s shaping up to follow after Karina, Irene, Yoona! Star quality is insane!

    2nd - Ahyeon - again undeniable how popular Ahyeon is! Hate her or love her you’re still discussing her! It’s clear she’ll follow the path of Jennie! I think the battle for top IT girl will come down to these top 2 imo!

    3 - Minju - I might not be an Illit fan but I’m not delusional :!: Minju’s star quality is insane! Her popularity is growing fast. Hybe has seen this and is giving her more center position… as they should! She will be a top contender no doubt!

    4 - Gawon - Gorgeous! She has it all imo! I admit I’m still struggling to choose between her and Ella and honestly I think this will hinder their chances because TBL seem very confused in who to push! One minute they’re pushing Gawon the next Ella and the next Anna. Imo I think Gawon is the most stand out option and has the most natural star potential out the 3. Her popularity is undeniable!

    5- Haum - This pretty cat! Her potential is crazy! Can possible take after Wonyoung if SS market her carefully! Easily the most stand out from the group but similarly to Meovv, SS are very confused who to push. They seem to swap between Haum, Leesol and Jiyu which I think will hinder in long run. Haum should be the most pushed that’s it!

    2) Ahyeon

    3) Minju


    But the big 3 visuals that knets agree on most are

She just got 1st place in brand ranking for 5th gen males and females, not even idols that have been around for 1 year have achieved this :!: she also had 2 viral trends in China and Korea after her and gets the most articles and blogs written about her. She also has the highest views/ fancams and has even better longevity and consistency than Carmen with engagement. She’s also the second biggest 5th gen girl in China after Ahyeon.


    I remind you this is only 5 months after debut with no predebut exposure and 3 songs :!::?:


    At least Aespa had Ningning who was in SM rookies and Karina was leaked pre debut so people had some idea who she was :oops:

    I admit 5th is overshadowed by 4th gen still but same was said about 4th gen with 3rd and look at them now :oops:

    I don't really care, this IT GIRL status is so boring now, and honestly, I don't see a single 5th or even 4th gen girl or boy who could be a REAL It Girl.


    I mean, there are some popular girls, but neither of them on the same level with the first 3 gen It Girls. This is a different era now, because it's so much easier to go viral on SNS and be popular, especially if you're pretty.

    Yeah, big ass NO! Firstly, as much as I love Irene she was never an It Girl, the same goes for Nayeon. They were really popular, but that's all.


    3rd gen only had Hwasa and Jennie, that's all. We're talking about real It Girls, not Popular Girls.


    I said this so many times, and I'm not tired of saying it over and over again, because Kpop fans love to ignore facts, or just don't know history, but there isn't a single female Idol in the history of Kpop who were called "The Queen of Queens", that's the Official title of Hwasa, and she's constantly called Queen Hwasa everywhere, not just in Korea.


    I mean, she was introduced as a Queen at Kcon 2025 a couple of days ago.


    She may not at her peak anymore on SNS or on Charts, at least based on her latest cb, but in Korea she's still massive! Other than Hwasa, I could only name: Hyori, BoA, IU, Yoona and Suzy whom are loved by every generation and gender, not just young people.

    There was a top 1 gg with no one had star power (except 1 member but for one viral moment) so I don't think it matter much.


    A viral hit or big project (like hit drama or reality show) is the only thing they need.

    Being an It girl equals popularity and acknowledgment not just from the kpop crowd but the general public. It has little to do with talent or visuals although having these can evaluate your popularity given you a better chance of becoming an It girl.


    Irene certainly was an It girl! She was adored by Korea and Asia in general and had the endorsements, brand awareness and advertisements and brand ambassadorship :huuh: This slowly faded with her scandal but you can’t rewrite history and say she wasn’t an IT girl when she was!


    Nayeon can be argued either way but imo she still was an IT girl albeit to a smaller degree :oops:


    Karina and Wonyoung are currently IT girls and to great degrees! their worldwide popularity outside of kpop speaks volumes enough :watt:

    I'm a massive Reveluv, and no she wasn't. She was just very popular for a period of time. Just like Nayeon.


    Karina and Wonyoung are not It Girls either, btw. At least not by the original standard. Both are very popular, but you can barely see them anywhere except social media.


    REAL It Girls aren't just pretty and popular and doing some CF work. They're making trends, can influence everyone, not just young kids. These days when an Idol goes viral on Tiktok etc people already saying they're It Girls. That's nonsense.


    Neither of have a solo career, so there's no point talking about It Girl status. That's why I said 4th and 5th gen is finished in terms of It Girls.


    A lot of Idols have endorsements and brand deals, that doesn't make them It Girls.


    Can you name anyone in the 4th or 5th gen who has a solo career in music, acting or variety, while doing CFs, insanely popular everywhere in Korea (because Korea is what matters not other countries), can influence people regardless of gender or age, and the industry itself acknowledge them as It Girls?


    I can't name a single Idol.

    I guess you’re waiting for longevity into their careers but don’t count out the global recognition and overall popularity to claim the IT title !


    Like I mentioned people outside of kpop are familiar with both Karina and WY, even with an unofficial unprompted solo song Karina achieved a pak! The first and only solo song from a 4th gen idol to achieve this!


    You’re doing what a lot of 1st/2nd kpop gen fans do which is underestimating how much 4th gen idols have achieved! Ironically 3rd and 4th gen’s stans do act the same towards 5th gen, I guess it’s the cycle :suure:


    Jusy remember there’s multiple criteria to achieve the IT status and 4th gen IT girls have achieved the obvious ones! Karina and WY will no doubt maintain their popularity into their solo careers whether that be acting/singing/presenting etc

    It's so funny how some people are acting like kpop groups are full of members with star power when 99% of kpop groups popularity are hard carry by 1-2 members of the group


    The only group where i can potentially think that all of the member have star power is Blackpink cuz even with YG lack of promo and big gap between comebacks

    They have been able to keep their group momentum going up only thanks to their individual star power


    Your favs doesn't have the star power that you all think they are, if they did they would not flop when they release a project

    I agree Ella has potiential and as she’s quite young her popularity can boom once she’s older but imo Gawon has the most potential out of the 2 from an outsider looking in but as I don’t keep up with Meovv so maybe it is Ella.


    Tbh Gawon does stand out the most, her aura is insane! I can see a lot of big brands wanting her and she’s overall an all rounder too :oops:

    Because she's not from a big company, and international K-Pop fans are largely IGNORANT, a lot of her dominance in Korea gets slept on.

    An “it girl” doesn’t just fade away after a few years. Jennie is the perfect example of that she’s still slaying. I don’t agree with that post, though.     At the peak of her popularity, Hwasa was literally everywhere and everything she touched turned to gold. A mom and pop's hole in the wall corner store turned into a 3-story restaurant franchise simply because Hwasa ate there on I Live Alone. Hwasa's impact was quite literally an economic force of nature when she was at the top of her It Girl era. She also literally was the first third generation idol to get a Perfect All-Kill, and she's done it multiple times.

    Hwasa was absolutely the most popular female idol in Korea in 2018. Nobody could touch her. You could argue it for 2019 as well.


    And I already linked a Gallup Survey that showed she retained that popularity even by the end of 2023.


    How many Twice, BLACKPINK or Red Velvet members ranked higher than her on that poll?
