But Bts does have a Jungkook. And V has fenomenal vocals, Bts songs just don't use enough of it. On that note, Bts works very well because the synenergy of talents not only limited to vocals. They have really good rappers and the dancers matter because of stage presence. It's not only about vocals, that's for sure. But if you need vocals listen to JK's or V's solo stuff. Even to Jin's. He may be not an all-rounder but that man did practise through the years and kept up well enough with Wendy in their collab just a few months old.

Anyway, I don't mind people having problems with the weak vocals of kpop. But the truth is, not a lot of kpop fans care about vocals. This is the reason why a lot of groups who are strong vocally are not that popular. It baffles me why not but that's the case.

Tbh 4th gen is mostly performance based! Nmixx, aespa, Purple kiss and other vocal based groups are the exception!

5th gen is bringing back vocals imo call me a 5th gen Stan but 5th gen groups are more well rounded than 4th and 3rd gen groups overall! Closes to 2nd Gen we are getting

That's a good point and I like this shift. It's sad that Nmixx and Purple Kiss didn't become bigger because they're very good. Hopefully with this shift we can hear better vocals when groups have to perform. I like 4th gen but I think there were too many moments of vocals not being up to par.

Anyways, ILLIT, TXT, BTS, ENHYPEN, AND LE SSERAFIM. They can all sing. And however "bad" you think they are, I'm pretty sure you would not be much better off if you had to go through what they go through everyday.

Now, I'd show you some good clips of each group singing, but I'm so tired of this "HYBE groups can't sing" narrative so I won't even bother. Youtube is free.

There haven't been exceptional vocalists in kpop since the 2nd gen. Mamamoo is still the only 3rd gen group that can all actually sing

Kpop has never had any worthwhile rappers besides one or two idols so I won't even go there.

Then you've got Blackpink and we all know how terrible they are.

KIOF can sing. As much as I am disappointed in them, they can sing extremely well.

technical expertise in kpop music doesn't necessarily sell (it doesn't mean it won't sell)

it just means there are so many other things that matter more to the customer and technical expertise isn't usually top

at the end of the day kpop is a business and as long as album sells, tickets are sold, songs chart and there's money to be made - is there any need for technical expertise?

5th gen bringing back vocals where? You got riize as the frontrunner but most of them can’t even sing without the help of backtrack.

With the rise and success of bts and bp, kpop is now all about dance, looks and having an “aura”. Doesn’t matter if you cannot hold a note.
