11 years later--I Got A Boy by SNSD. Is it a bop, flop or blop?

I started diving into SNSD's discography for the first time last week and this was one of the songs I listened to. I wrote down and ranked each song in tiers for my own reference, I gave this song a B tier. I'd call it a solid blop. Being more familiar with a group can often elevate a song though, which is obviously not the case since I am just discovering them now.

BOP, I love kpop songs that are totally kpop.

I remember loving Signal by Twice when a lot didn't, or zimzalabim, rookie, umpah umpah by RV, etc.

Chaotic bop

I remember back then this album had member versions, which now later has become a staple in kpop

One of the best songs ever in kpop. It’s crazy how if it was released today it would still sound unique and out there.

The most awesome thing is SNSD performing it live. I have never seen a gg that fucking talented especially since them. Perfect stable vocals on a chaotic song whilst doing one of the most difficult gg kpop choreo ever, SNSD showed why they are in a league of their own.

My first ever Kpop song. I remember this releasing and my classmates raved about it and did a ton of dance covers. It was unique

It's Still a Bop!!

It was the first time they did the girl-crush(?) concept and I loved it!

Not a super favorite, but kind of like it even if it's a bit strange song. It's a bit catchy so hard not to like it.

This, I was starting to dive into SNSD and this was one of the first exposures I had to the group. They performed Genie (another iconic song of theirs) and I got a boy. I watched the video a few times trying to grasp the meaning of the song and I fell in love with the group instead.

This song was released to become an instant kpop classic and it will always be a bop.
