BTS was always an exception, the Western industry is so hermetic that only the most IMPACTFUL artist in the kpop industry could make them bend around.
Still, it is obvious how desperate they were to shut the door closed ASAP.
I guess other kpop acts will have to keep trying. Maybe riding the coat tails of relevant Western acts will finally do the trick...

well yeah...because as much as army want to label BTS are mainstream...kpop is niche in the US. Niche doesn't get you a grammy nom unless you're a musical genius like Jacob Collier.

2025 and people still fighting over grammy noms
honeslty the only time I wanted for that to happen was for both dynamite bc of what it achieved, my universe for being one of the best kpop collabs i've ever heard and BTS for Best New Artist
other than that it doesn't really make sense and just feel like standard grammy nomination which, imo, relies on campaign and networking

I mean are we really shocked? They do not even nominate or recognize some of the biggest artists in the world other than Asia, let alone Asia 
Also just from an industry perspective here, Yama you do know the nominees are usually only there because someone from their label and or management kissed the ass of a Grammy official? The amount of times actually great albums are ignored because they did not go out of their way to petition for it like crazy and take the officials out for dinner and shit is crazy.

I clearly suggested that kpop artist will better try to ride the coattail from relevant Western artists to get a nomination since their own impact is clearly not working ...
Now, just this year alone, collabs with Western artists have been everywhere, its difficult to point out just one group...
If certain fandoms feel alluded and triggered by this general statement, it tells me more about how they view their own faves, what do I tell you?

Unnecessary is the indirect shade when your faves also collab with a loooot of western artists, but bc just a certain one got a real hit suddenly is riding on somebody else success. Jealous (not you obviously) is ugly, but not surprising seeing who I was quoting.
