Maybe not guaranteed but it is funny how people continue to act like he is somehow holding artists back when he has one of the best records of success amongst all producers in the industry.

It was YG who crushed YGE's reputation by his antics, his style of management with his whim, etc.

Soon to say, but explosive debuts are long gone now for sure.

I think it's just the decline in music quality from their groups aside from bp and akmu.

No that’s just excuses. I don’t like BIGBANG but their comeback still life still charted. The yg sound is getting boring. All they have is teddy

True but also another problem is that all of their producers except teddy are worse than him. They need to hire new people, even if it’s not for blackpink, since they’re known for this sound so it wouldn’t be smart to change it now.

Considering bigbangs last release immediately charted at #1 with the highest uls for first day for any song released in the last three years, and their songs are still played and referenced on tv/radio all the time, i doubt it

and then theres AKMU

General public doesnt care if its YG or not per say, but they also dont immediately seek out new yg artist as it used to be back when yg basically had largest collection of big digimons in korea (bigbang, 2ne1, epik high, akmu, psy, blackpink etc)

Add on to that the last few years of chart changes have made it much much harder for new artists get into the top of the charts

The snippet of Babymonster that I heard sounded like the Wish version of Blackpink. So it might just be song quality that's the problem?

I should note, that I don't care for Blackpink's sound, so my judgment is likely harsher than most, since I'm not the intended audience.

Big bang was korean national boy group so to speak so their impact is too strong and it was like a goodbye song.

but how do you explain taeyang's solo flopping (the one after he did with Jimin) or winner's releases flopping. Mino's solo album didn't that well either and his first album did good dgitally and not to mention Ikon's bad digital performance before leaving YG. Akmu was already well known before joining YG though
