Many people say Jihyo is the best female performer in 3rd gen now. But her solo didn't do well, even worse than Nayeon, while Lisa got a global hit. Lisa got popular for her dancing/stage, why can't Jihyo be as popular despite performing as well as Lisa?
Why isn't Jihyo as popular as Lisa despite being as good or better performer?

As far as individual recognition, BP is out of Twice's league, and I say that as a Once.
Within Twice...
Nayeon's song was a hit, but she's the most popular member of Twice in SK. Jihyo is popular internationally (among international Kpop fanbase not GP) but one of the least popular members in SK.

I mean in theory yes but in reality no because when you realise that 99.999% of stages are lip synced so might as well only judge them on dance. Whats the point of judging Ningning, Tayeon etc on their singing while performing if they aren't singing live, might as well only base them on dancing since that's something you can see with your eyes so unless it's a live stage dancing + facial expressions is the only thing that counts as performing.

Lisa is the most popular on a group of most populars.
Jihyo is an angel, a great performer and i love her, but she is not even close to be the most popular member on Twice.
"who is the best"- is relative to each taste. Both have Angel, both have stage presence, both have a magical smile on their faces.

jihyo is a good singer, dancer and performer
but to me she just doesn't have the IT factor, i can see that she work hardd
but to me she just doesn't exude the " I'm made to be a superstar" energy
that some idols like Nayeon, Jennie, Lisa, hwasa etc.... have since the day they put a foot on stage

Jihyo's solo didn't do well for several reasons, the biggest being nobody likes the way Jihyo sings. Like I knew she was gonna flop on kcharts the moment I heard the first snippet but what surprised me was it's terrible charting on Spotify. Twitter hype literally means NOTHING

I agree with this in general. Most of what I say next is therefore in general and not specifically about Jihyo and Twice.
Especially girl groups often get a lot of Twitter/online hype by multi fans, but are lucky if these same people stream their song more than once or twice, let alone buy an album. (boy groups tend to get less multi love).
And then those same people get mad when a group disbands or doesn't do solo work any more because people don't 'recognize real talent'.
There is so much nice stuff and nice groups around, but in the end, an actual fandom is needed that strongly supports the artists beyond a tweet about how wonderful something is.
Also, there are so many soloists. People who were soloists from the start, people who are still in a group that do solo work, people who left a group and become soloists and people who didn't make it to the final group in survival shows who go solo. There are even more of them than there are groups. I often notice how many people from midtier and nugu groups try to go solo after disbandment or other issues and almost all of them you never hear from again beyond one song (if that) which flops.
Jihyo still did well compared to most of them. The competition is crazy.
Jihyo is a great example of someone that many i-fans (not talking about dedicated Once here, but multi fans) 'love'. We see that love is actually 'like somewhat but not more than 20 other groups/soloists I also somewhat like'.

Nayeon's song was very successful it's not like it was some flop. Plus Nayeon is more popular, it makes sense her song would do better (it doesn't make sense that it would be that much more successful though).
Jihyo is really talented but she just doesn't have that spark or whatever that makes her get hardcore fans. She's widely respected and liked but has less die-hard fans than some other members in the group, let alone all of 3rd gen. I'm not a Once (altho I do like Twice) but I think Nayeon/Momo/Sana are all more naturally compelling as performers than she is.
