Why did queendom 2 failed compared to the first season?

Q2 just wasn't interesting enough.

I also feel like they didn't choose right idols for the show, every episode we basically watched Hyolyn eating up other girls.

we got like 2 rookies on the show, along with 2 10+ membered group, 1 recently-hit veteran group and hyolyn

of course the public would not care that much since theres no gidle, aoa or mamamoo for the less popular groups to latch on. i love my loona girlies but their fanbase are hard-carried by international fans. they definitely need the push but theres also need for a group known in korean for them to ride their popularity on.

I love Q2 but Queendom 1 was the first and really fresh

• You have a veteran Park Bom who have been out of the spotlight for quite some time, once again showcasing her unique vocal colour. She is a legend
• AOA, another senior group who haven't had a comeback in years, first time performing as 5
• Mamamoo, a group who is doing very well during that time, vocal and performance powerhouse
• (G)I-DLE, rising rookie group that is known for their unique performances
• Oh My Girl, the underdog. They are not unknown but not popular, and surprised everyone with their ethereal concepts
• Lovelyz, probably the least known which is why maybe they didn't make a huge impact?

The key difference I saw was that, in Q1 it was more of everyone performing because they are doing it for the love of performing and that they are also in it to win it.

For Q2, the key difference to me, was that it felt like a show to "save dying groups", rather than Q1 which felt like a show to "showcase their talents". It feels like they keep showing how they are not successful and the show is for them to boost their popularity.

Only Hyolyn was there to really like slay the shit out of the show. Hyolyn yes she isn't the most popular artist right now, but she didn't go on the show to "salvage her career", she went to win

The groups that went on Q2 it felt like they went to it for clout and wanted the Queendom boost, other than Hyolyn who felt like she was there to showcase her talents

If anything I think Hyolyn actually got a boost. She performed multiple times in live concerts all over, she even appeared on end award shows which she wouldn't have I think since it's not like she had a huge year. It was that performance with Bibi.
