Fun fact, in my country, jk is called "jangku bhai" and we even had a Facebook event as joke called "apology to jangku bhai" which 20k+ people interested because he was trolled but after dreamers dropped, people started to praise him.

Interesting how it seems that there are similar experiences from different part of the world because of his song/performance. In my country (let’s say gulf community as a whole not just one country because our media are the same) the football fans and K-pop fans always fight but due to World Cup, the K-pop fans liked football and started to follow matches and the football fans started praising Jungkook for the song and overall because he was respectful. Now I feel like everyone knows the name Jungkook here.

Jungkook was always known & got an insane popularity boost by performing @ the world cup & doing the song Dreamers
V/Teahyung is always talked ab for his visuals & fashion sense & always leaves a mark wherever he goes.
But Jimin is the one name EVERYONE knows. He is known for his dance, his voice & his features. He always charms everyone wherever he goes.

The World Cup is the biggest event to happen in recent years and Jungkook was the only artist to get attention throughout the entire month.
He dropped the best World Cup song for the entire Qatar WC after all and killed it in the Opening Ceremony.
No wonder his performance is quickly becoming one of the most watched live performance in Bangtantv channel and BTS has a tone of those (they are the best live performers after all)...
Having say that, he already was the best known kpop idol, his name is the one locals used to reference kpop before

Anyone saying anyone else but a BTS member is mad-pressed, bitter or both. The WC really did bring Jungkook a new form of recognition after all the men in my life who did not give af about my interests in kpop came to me asking "isn't that the dude from that asian group you like?" and my mom who I mention BTS in passing asked how I was doing after Jin was enlisted out of the blue because she watches Stephen Colbert religiously lol. Jimin has super popular thing going on with non-kpop fans "once you Jimin you can't Jimout" esp with straight men LMAO and Taehyung is fast approaching being the most valued male idol per post with his insane level of engagement.
Edit: I forgot to add Yoongi is growing a little more popular with the NBA crowd as he's about to meet Lebron James soon too.

Like even Grandmas from the opposite end of the world will recognise him.
They might not know his name, but they will recognise him and know of his existence.
Versus everyone else in this list who random people on the street will not recognise. Like you can go up to a random person on the street of any age and they would probably have a higher chance recognising the person that dance Gangnam Style, rather than any other guy/girl that many foreigners can even differentiate.
