Who is most recognizable Kpop star in the whole world at this point in time? Jungkook vs V vs Jimin vs Lisa vs Jennie vs IU vs Wonyoung vs Psy?

I love IU she is a legend but globally she isn’t recognized as BTS for example. Same for Wonyoung. It’s between the BTS and BP members and I would say Jungkook. In my area he has become way bigger after World Cup.

bp members have more solo visibility via their endorsments. but jk had l&r and the world cup this year so he's definitely more recognized in kpop.

Interesting how it seems that there are similar experiences from different part of the world because of his song/performance. In my country (let’s say gulf community as a whole not just one country because our media are the same) the football fans and K-pop fans always fight but due to World Cup, the K-pop fans liked football and started to follow matches and the football fans started praising Jungkook for the song and overall because he was respectful. Now I feel like everyone knows the name Jungkook here.

I would say Lisa and idk if this will change any time soon. The number of locals, girls I know who follow Lisa and her style is insane lol. Complete muggles. The football world cup won’t change that. I can’t name all the acts that perform at the WC or Olympics unless I already knew them anyway.

The World Cup is the biggest event to happen in recent years and Jungkook was the only artist to get attention throughout the entire month.

He dropped the best World Cup song for the entire Qatar WC after all and killed it in the Opening Ceremony.

The WC really did bring Jungkook a new form of recognition after all the men in my life who did not give af about my interests in kpop came to me asking "isn't that the dude from that asian group you like?" and my mom who I mention BTS in passing asked how I was doing after Jin was enlisted out of the blue because she watches Stephen Colbert religiously lol. Jimin has super popular thing going on with non-kpop fans "once you Jimin you can't Jimout" esp with straight men LMAO and Taehyung is fast approaching being the most valued male idol per post with his insane level of engagement.

he might also attend the Korean Heritage Night @ Crypto Arena (used to be Staples Center) due to him being in LA & also attending that game
