This shows that everyone claiming that 1 million is easy to get for GGs are living in some crazy fantasy world lol. Only five GGs are remotely close to this standard or have achieved it in modern history. BP, Twice, Itzy, Ive and Aespa.

After these groups, RV needs over 300k to reach this. HNGGTSNBN, Lesserafim, NMIXX, and others still need to double their sales or more to reach it. Other top digital performers like Stayc, Idle, and OMG are nowhere near this number.

Bottom line, even though some of these GGs will eventually achieve it, 1 million is still a HUGE accomplishment for any GG.

So going forward for sales.

Brave Girl, Oh My Girls, Lee MuJin, BTS and aespa all dominate the chart last year. Only aespa barely hang onto the top 20 right now. So it changes so fast and brutal.

WJSN, Dreamcatcher, Fromis9, Loona are in that camp.

NMixx is in a weird camp on their own, but they should chart better going forward.

OMG and Mamamoo are on the chart well, but don't sell as they should camp.

as more GGs release comebacks during this period of inflated album sales, more groups will hit the million mark.

But IVE? That's honestly amazing, I'm glad so many people recognize their amazing songs.

And New Jeans is seriously so impressive to me. The fact that they were a surprise group and dropped their debut with no real announcement and already have THAT many sales?? That's absolutely crazy to me.

Even for boygroups, it still is a huge accomplishment.

BTS, EXO, NCT, Seventeen, TXT, Enhypen, Stray Kids and Ateez. As far as I know they are the only boygroups to reach the mark. Quite few compared to the sea of bgs that exist out there.

Are boygroups experiencing an unusual rise in album sales too? Or it's just girl groups?

i think NewJeans sell a lot because:

1) the weverse version (no CD only 10 photocards) are very cheap

2) the member versions are good for solo stans cause you get 5 photocards of your fave. No randomised pc

3) the bags, the fan girls like them a lot
