O.O on the other hand starts in the most grating way. What follows might be enjoyable but the fact you have to go through this excruciating intro/first verse/whatever makes it impossible.

Agree on this. in terms of choreography I would say O.O has the upper-hand! but song-wise, Girls kinda does it for me although I've really grown to like O.O, it isn't like boring to me at least

"Girls" merely veers bland, while "O.O" could be viewed as offensive.
However, a case can be made that "O.O" has approached "so bad it's good / so wrong it's right" territory.
Now that you mentioned it, I'm kinda torn as well. O.O always has been a daily blast for me and Girls is relatively new. idk I might have another opinion next time.

Uhh I refuse to let JYP think O.O is an acceptable form of material for a GG that has such great potential in NMIXX. No. That hackjob of a song trying to capture the segment of the audience that are into aespa's music is beneath NMIXX's talent in my opinion.
Girls, on exception of the choreo, is a par for the course aespa title track. I feel like we go through this every comeback in their short career, but I seem to recall people being pretty mixed on Next Level for a small bit of time initially and now it's often considered an elite tier title track.
