they're (high) mid tier companies, def not big yet. Only some of their groups are a succes

lol let's all admit that while Starshit doesnt have the high profile name branding that the Big 4 have, no such thing as a Kakao stan, they do have access to a vast amount of resources and promotional connections that rival or exceed the Big 4. Kakao is 4x bigger than Hybe and probably 10x 20x bigger than the others, they can easily throw their weight around to support their acts.

Being under Kakao, formerly LOEN doesn't make any company big and certainly doesn't make any idols benefit from it. There are so many nugus under these Kakao subsidiaries.

I'd say they are mid, but are working their way up to being bigger companies.

They both fell off at around the same time, but they have 2 of the top GGs in the game right now. People don't respect them like the Big 4 either, but at the same time, if I were a trainee, the only agencies I would even CONSIDER are the Big 4, Starship, or Cube. Wouldn't even look at the rest of them.

This is definitely not about Cube lmfao Cube goes in zig zags. For every step up they make one step down. Beast, 4Minute, Btob CLC, Pentagon Gidle Lightsum (so far) .

Even Btob has underperformed for like 3 years before Sungjae went on WGM. Cube can't guarantee success, which is something that separates big companies. Big company groups never flop.

Edit: another thing that differentiates Cube from big companies is how fast they get rid of members who are in controversy. Soojin's absence is not a big loss for Gidle, but Ilhoon totally made Btob a different group, they literally became an acapella group without his song writing skills and rapping. Very dumb decision to let him go over a weed.

Depends on what you call a flop. Digitally, Big 4 groups do flop. Physically though, they can't be beat, which is where Cube lacks.

Cube has definitely fallen off, but with G-IDLE now one of the hottest GGs and their history of having very successful groups, they have more of a chance of producing more successful groups versus companies that have 0 well known acts.

They do make a good point about Kakao.

Kakao is a big company, not big in groups they have, but they are a large corporation.

Cube is medium, unless they have been bought out.

Very good point, there are no Kakao stans or CJ E&M stans.

SM, YG, JYP and now Hybe have company stans, the other 2 big corporations do not.

For that reason, while starship may have the money and influence behind the scenes, Starship does not benefit from the actual Big 4 privilege up front, like having company stans and huge public interests for their groups.

Which is why i'm curious what the future of the Big 3 will look like if Kakao ever does bother to buy SM (literally what happened to that news? We never heard back about it. These companies play too damn much smh).

its not about the resources, like sm got the resources with nct, same as yg with treasure and those still flop in the eyes of the korean gp, its the fandom they gain thru the stans that follow past groups of said companies that matter in this case

Nobody is a kakao or cje stan bc both have debuted groups and most if not all of them have done badly

For some reason, I feel like most of those solo companies will eventually be gobbled up by conglomerates. Especially with Hybe making it look easy. Then, there will be no Big this or that, but fans will probably decide which company within the companies they like most.
