So soon Oh My Girl and TWICE will be the only GG's which debuted in 2015 and are still active...
-
-
Twice will or likely have all renewed.
Sad only 2 GGs from 2015 have survived. I think with RV and MMM they are pretty much the only surviving GGs of third gen who's contracts have passed, or soon to, the 7 yr mark?
I don't know RV situation but for MAMAMOO we can be sure they will stay as a group for total 10 years
and there is also APink
-
Im just assuming RV since theyre 8 yrs old now
RV seemed to have renewed based purely on the fact that they are now eight years in but I don't think anybody's heard any news about it
-
-
Yes, I like Twice.
-
Aww
So OMG...Jiho recently left about a week ago...
Does that mean that the other members could leave or they all chose to re-sign their contracts with the company and being in the group?
Oh My Girl will continue promotions as 6 members group
Jiho was the only one who didn't sign new deal
-
dreamcatcher is stronger than ever!
-
Red velvet didn’t renew. Sm contracts last 10 years not 7.
-
yeah but mamamoo last group activity was 8 months ago, and their last korean comeback was totally ignored by the general public, things are not looking great as a group for them
-
I think OMG is in danger of being Mamamoo'ed with the loss of Jiho. The way these poor GGs suddenly fall off the map after a lineup change, it's terrifying. Even a GG as powerful as SNSD couldnt withstand the loss of Jessica.
Twice is the lone holdout, the aging, battle scarred warhorse, still proudly carrying the banner for the Third Age of Kpop.

Dreamcatcher did not debut in 2015
(nor did Minx, if you're counting them)
-
minx was sep 2014 - my bad
-
it's so sad, all these great ggs disbanding or losing members. and it's very telling only the ones from big 3 (twice and rv) manage to survive with all the members so far. I hope all the best for everyone

Ah, I see.
I'm still kinda sad she left the group though...

I read a lot of stupid things every day on this forum but your post and this sentence in particular deserves a prize for such a level of stupidity.
I'm not going to dwell on the list of all the 3rd gen groups still active, especially since there are still the two most popular for the moment. OK, I'll give it to you Blackpink and active aren't two words that go very well together, but they haven't disbanded yet, as far as I know.

I'm waxing poetic, just go with it and stop trying to ruin the fun.

Your poetic skills are as good as JYP's clothing choices

You should follow SME more closely because under Korean law, 7 years is the maximum to sign an Entertainers Contract for a Korean Company.
It's thanks to SME's group TVXQ which took until 2017 for it to pass, so naturally SME couldn't keep any contract for that long.
However what SME does is try to keep 1 member signed up so they can keep the Trademark for the Group

I found weird Lay announced his department from the group as soon Exo turned 10 years.
Girls generation last comeback if you don’t count GG.Oh was in 2017.
Maybe SM has a special contract with its group.
