The group brand Blackpink was meant to be the central thing that launches 4 solo careers. It's classic kpop, classic group dynamic actually. It's Backstreet Boys. Business wise also 4 successful enough solo artists will bring in more money. The members it seems are far more interested in their solo ventures as influencers and socialites (and definitely make more money through that). I believe Blackpink are happy with their current position in their careers.
To me their strategy did not suddenly become about starvation as kpop fans call it, it's something that they had planned for since debut. Actually it's not even the real strategy. The reality is that the group brand isn't meant to be sustainable. They manage to inculcate casual interest and hype which is what YG is known for.
It works for the audience they target: young teen girls and white gay men who like glamour. It's classic Kendall Jenner.
They'd maybe come back once more this year later but followed by a huge gap before their next release if it ever happens.
I expect all of them (barring Lisa maybe but even with her tbh) to renew their contracts though because as I said I believe they are satisfied with YG and their position in their career.
