As i understand it, 2nd gen was a fight between SNSD, Wondergirls, Kara, Tara, Miss A, 2NE1 , fx, and Sistar. Am i missing any other groups?

4th gen is a fight between Itzy, Ive, Idle, Aespa, StayC, NMIXX, Kepler and Ssamkura.

4th gen is slow and still in infancy. 3rd gen still rules. But yeah, watch for for G-idle and IVE (non big 4 gp)

Sistar never had the sales but they were discussed as one of the top GG

But you are right, Sistar could never get over Girls Generation because of the low sales.

Sales usually reflect the next comeback after hit song. If Tomboy keeps going its success, the next comeback may have drastically more sales than right now.

Sure the fandom can grow after a hit.

Brave girls went from selling 2,000 albums to selling 75K after their big hit.

But the bulk of the album buying is the fandoms, we will see if Gidle has a growing fandom or just growing general public support.

They sold over 200K with their last EP. So they sell pretty well for a non big 3 GG.

I don't think we should considered G idle 4th gen though according to Knetz 3.5 gen. Honestly, there are still mixed opinions whether they are considered 4th gen or not . Not even a fan of aespa but they obviously the top 4th gen gg at the moment.

there has been a few articles questioning if groups that debuted in 2018 groups should be considered 4th generation .Actually, last year there was an article that only included girl groups that debuted 2019 and onwards ( can't find it now) let's be real people started to talk about the generation shifting when itzy and txt debuted then after that they started to include groups that debuted a bit earlier for some reason

I mean technically bp and nct can be considered 3.5 gen if we take 2018 or 2017 end as start of 4th gen.
