Did they rig the SMA?

LSM didn't have enough money to rig Dream into winning a bonsang.

No SMA has always been this way. They have clearly said 40% is judges criteria. Truth is no one wants to accept the judges may not have cared about their favs.

I mean myself included lol. When they rigged Baekhyun and CBX out of their Bonsang

Funny but fans asked Taehyun on Weverse about Sma and he just answered: Oh, is it today? They are the best at giving subtle hints (and shade). They literally told us after GDA that their end of the year performances finished and we can relax after this one. All that voting was for nothing and they knew it.

I have no problem with judges having their favorites, I think the weirdest situation is that the winners' who didn't attend did their speech a month ago when the voting was still happening. I mean, why ignoring 30% of the criteria like that.

NCT Dream, Skz and Txt was all in the predicted top. Some groups wasn’t even the top 25.

Can that 40% have that much …influence (lack of English…I need a coffee) to the ranking?

NCT Dream won Best Album, but it baffled me they didn't get a Bonsang.

Then there's IVE not being one of the ROTY winners.

yes. don't know how ive didn't win what were the judges on. never even heard of some of the roty groups...

I'm so over judges criteria. Like, why does your opinion outweigh the opinion of millions of other people? There is no such thing as an objective measure of how good music is. I don't tend to like r&b songs but that doesn't mean it's bad. Similarly a judge might be more into hip hop and dislike pop. Our own opinions of songs shouldn't mean more or less than others. I don't even understand how ive didn't win roty and other roty winners I never even heard about.

That’s why I’m not a fan of mixed criterias like Album sales + fan votes + judges. Just stick to one of those….

In America for example, the AMA nominations are based on sales/radio airplay/streams but the eventual winner from the nominations are decided by the public. Then the Billboard Awards are based on their accumulated chart rankings which are based on sales, streams, and airplay.

The Grammy Awards on the other hand likes to pretend it’s based on quality and not sales. But really it’s like 20k+ industry members who nominate their favorites from mainstream artists….

NCT Dream wasn't given bonsang since they'll automatically be nominated for the daesang, for some reason they didn't wanted to count BTS album sales and without it, NCT Dream would had won the daesang but since they didn't win bonsang, they couldn't be nominated for daesang

Why would you put enhypen in it? 13 bonsangs were given, based on predictions enhypen was 12-13th. Knowing that there are judges, their rank most likely got boosted up by their votes too. I understand questioning groups which were out of the top 15,top 20 and even top 25 but still won..

I don't think rigging happened in the bonsang category because judges vote can really change up the rankings. What I am more curious about is why the hell omega x and epex won roty instead of ive?? Ive is exceeding in sales, domestic and international charting, is more popular, has many wins for their debut song, has accomplished a lot yet they still didn't get roty..

disagree, even with 0 points (which is ridiculous lol) from judge NCT Dream should still be in top 13, they were legit 2 on the criteria

edit: i forgat to say, agree about IVE, if they didn't wanted to give them the award, they shouldn't nominated them, like why...? they nominated them soon after debut only to rob them
