Are there qualities a group must have for you to consider stanning them?

I look for high quality music, catchy dances (I like to learn my faves dances), good chemistry, passion, and good music.

Basically I just have to find the members likeable for me to really stan and follow them.Everything else without that falls under ''casual listener''.

If watching or listening to them gets my dopamine flowing -- I stan.

Analytically though, that usually means that there's a quality that stands out for them.

G-idle had really good compositions and their group is such a close friend group

Chungha -- she can slay anyone and she a dancing machine! she also got that MJ vibe too.

AleXa's story is really touches my heart -- she's doing the whole kpop idol thing to raise visibility so she can connect to her mother's family. ( mom was adopted into the US really young, so there isn't known korean family despite knowing there is)

Bibi got that swag. alla that swagger.

Bol4 convinced me that voice stans are a thing. I'm her voice stan rn.

Lozareena (jpop) is the same as above.

Itzy is such a chill power group I can't figure out what yet but they got me stanning!

Lexie Liu is a really good english/mandopop artist, hits home with the culture. I feel back in my mental hometown with her music, being an ABC. Stuck between western and eastern culture.

1. Be a girl group

I don't have a dealbreaker quality for me but if I see myself listening to their music and spending my time looking for their content, then I might consider stanning. I can enjoy any quality by any group and never get to stan them.

Music that I enjoy is a must. As for the rest, I need to feel like I connect to the group/members to be able to stan them. There are plenty of groups with good enough music for me to consider stanning them, but the connection isn't quite there, so I'm not that interested...

1. catchy music - idc about choreo or if the main vocal can hit an ariana grande note, for me it's enough to have a good discography which i can listen to on a daily basis without getting tired of it

about visuals - i don't want to sound shallow but i do care about them indeed, at least at the beginning. it's much more likely to check out the group if i like the members' looks

overall it strongly depends on the group itself. there are groups which caught me in a dead grip after just 2 songs, there are groups which i've been following for years but still consider myself a casual listener rather than a stan... it's about connection with the members ig

I feel this one especially...

When I miss a lot of content I feel distant from that group and it honestly makes me feel a little guilty -- I'm hard stanning an idol or idol group and yet I'm missing a couple dozen of their videos. Especially hard as a multifan haha and I can't no-life stan anymore either.

I only stan 3 boy groups: BTS, EXO, and SHINee because those are the only 3 whose music I consistently like and I've watched variety show clips of theirs before!

I do watch performance videos and dance practices here and there but I haven't really sat down to watch behind the scenes content in over a year now. I usually have no idea what my favourite groups are up to. I'm probably the worst kind of fan anyone can possibly have because I'm just really apathetic unless it's comeback time.

Yes, they must have good vocals first and foremost. I don't really care about dance skill or visuals. A likeable personality is also a must for me.

It starts with the vocals for me - this is how I fall for any singer or group. Once the vocals are there, do I like the music? I know I tend to prefer specific genres and styles.. Everything else beyond that is gravy - I appreciate performance, dance, personalities, fun content - but fundamentally it’s about the vocals and the music for me.

Music first and personality comes second.

I can listen to music but that's not what makes me want to stan/fan a group...

it has to be more than just music (for me) and that something more is often their personalities and how well they interact as a group...or at least what we as fans see as their personalities since they might have completely different ones off camera

high quality music that the artists themselves seem to have an actual connection to (whether it be writing or producing).

yes, I like BTS and Taylor Swift

I need to like the music first and before.

Then I mainly care about good rap and good vocals. I don't care care about the dancing skills that much, you don't need it to make a song. If the groups is involved in their songs production then it's a huge bonus. That's why I like Mamamoo, BTS and Purple Kiss that much.

fun and catchy music i enjoy is what's the most important, if i don't like the music at all there's no chance.

i have to like every single member, no exceptions. i can have favorites, but i won't stan a group if i don't like one or more of the members.

their friendship and chemistry as a group are important. if it seems like all the members kind of hate each other, no thank you. their personalities matter too.

most idols are talented in one way or another, so i don't really care if they're not all top level singers or dancers.

also i'm shallow and if i didn't think every member was pretty i probably wouldn't stan them lol

Versatile discography - i can pick music depends on my mood.

Relatable songs - its fun for me whenever i hear a songs like they calling me out. Lol

Chaein is really involved in their songs lyrics and production, Yuqi writes her rap parts and others members participated in some songs creation.

I need to like majority of their music. Like on an almost no skip level.

Less member also helpful because when I check out their other content (variety programs for example) i like to get to know the members and focus on them. It’s harder with bigger group.

Not really I can listen to anything by any one.

I guess a turn off is having too much rap esp the ones where they like shout or spit into the mic. Like instant turn off.

Less rap is pretty much my only requirement I guess. Other than that I can listen to anything.
