Are digitals needed to consider a group as a top group?

    Digital performance not only locally but also internationally plays a big or important role in your opinion to consider a group as a top one?


    Honestly I do think so because digital performance reflects the impact of the group among general public the recognition, you can’t have a hit song or a song charting for so long with fandom alone that’s impossible.


    Boygroups have such strong physical sales that can overpower everything else, hence why so many of them can be consider as top groups even tho their digitals are terrible.

    BGs have fanbase and can make millions even after peak in long term compared to ggs, where only selective few members have career after peak.

    But still everyone wish to have gp recognition in own country, no matter what

    So yeah digital matters , if u want to be S tier.

    Take Sistar for example, their physicals were atrocious but their digitals were top tier. They were considered probably top 5 of their gen, some years even top 3 just from hit songs alone.


    And Brave Girls now, they sold what like little over 70k for their latest album, but their songs are comfortably staying on top and is probably one of the hottest GG right now among the GP

    All forms of sales should be considered to crown a top group. Yes digital sales definitely are important, just as much as physical sales are important. I think what you are thinking is what is "more" important. That is a subjective matter and actually has no answer. What the company wants is "money". What the artist wants is "fame & money". Their path to that money can be either way.
