If you're not familiar with the list, TC Candler & The Independent Critics is an organisation that has been releasing an annual ranking of the 100 most beautiful female celebrity faces since 1990.
The lists have been fairly well-regarded over the past three decades, but unfortunately, a couple years ago, TC Candler began including large numbers of Korean celebrities in order to appeal to various K-pop fandoms (for "clout"), which has reduced their lists' credibility.
2021's ranking can be seen in this YouTube video. However, I've taken the liberty of picking out all the idol entrants, which are shown below:
#07: Tzuyu (Twice)
#10: Nana (After School / Actress)
#13: Seulgi (Red Velvet)
#17: Rosé (Blackpink)
#20: YooA (Oh My Girl)
#22: Yuqi ((G)I-dle)
#24: Sana (Twice)
#30: Jennie (Blackpink)
#34: Chaeryeong (Itzy)
#40: Yuki (Purple Kiss)
#43: Chaewon (April)
#47: Somi (I.O.I / Solo)
#50: Nayeon (Twice)
#68: Momo (Twice)
#74: Dita (Secret Number)
As you can see, there's a lot that doesn't make sense if this ranking is simply supposed to be about beauty.
What do you feel are the most obvious errors or omissions?
