People stopped talking about IOI too at some point, and they used to be pitted against Twice all the time. Eventually, most of these top groups will probably surpass IZ*ONE in sales. Just because they will have been together 7 years.
They might not beat IZ*ONE's records, but most people aren't going to be looking at that.

I'm not sure, but if anyone's been keeping up with their Spotify streams they're doing crazily well. Like it's actually shocking. And of course they're doing amazing on Korean charts and they're selling a lot of albums. All I'll say is that they've already become big competition for other girl groups.

Same... like Next Level and Savage combined I'm willing to admit that aespa are dominating, but people were ready to crown them after just Next Level when there was no way to tell if that was going to actually translate to anything beyond that song.
Like I recognize that a lot of kpop fans only want to stan groups who are popular, but they have got to give them time to actually build up a career first. Yseki mentioned Pristin which I think is a good example of counting the chickens before they hatch because anything can happen.

So let’s wait for one more comeback and you all can say aespa is first plus spotify and other streaming platform itzy is 1st
