If your bias was anti-LGBTQ+ would you feel conflicted and struggle with them being your fave?

I wouldn't 'idolise' him (or if it's majority of the group, them) anymore but I'd still listen to their music
-
-
yes
-
i would definitely be disappointed
-
-
-
neutral is fine as long they weren't spouting or ranting while using slurs
-
there is a difference between being against it or respectfully having a different opinion but those kinds of things (transphobia, biphobia or homophobia) would make me view them differently because it reveals their character to some extent

I think most people are neutral anyway as in “ Your life do whatever you want”… I think they are less anti’s and more neutral’s but they often get lumped into the anti pot if they don’t agree to certain ideologies. lol
So at which point would you be considered an anti ?
I think it’s safe to say that those Idols who have openly stated to be religious might not be that supportive towards LGBTQ+, but anti’s ? I don’t think a full blown anti would join the Idol business in the first place, not the current generations… there are progressive religious people, but living in a conservative country, it’s less likely they are one of those.
-
Korea is still very conservative and traditional… expect a lot of Idols not really going in line with western ideologies or aren’t supporting most of it. 🤷🏽♀️
PS… they would most likely not be openly vocal about it either.
Lgbtq is not a western ideology.
-
You know as a religion person being gay, transgender...is forbidden however the concept of being anti-gay is throwing me off because at the end of the day that’s none of our business.
Since Korea is a conservative country I don’t expect that much from idols like there is difference between being homophobe and just not ‘vibing’ with the concept of being LGBTQ so my fav is openly homophobic I will unstan...it’s weird to have too much hatred for a community
-
-
Yes I would feel conflicted so maybe unstan, they may not like or support it but anti? nooo
-
Separate the art from the artist. Because whatever music etc they made that helped you or others didn't lose its meaning or purpose, because of them. They could have been a different person before they had those views etc. People do evolve and change over time, not always in the best way but it happens.
What I would do if given the opportunity to talk with them is speak with them like a normal human being, try to emphasize and understand their point of view even if i don't agree with it. Because understanding someone else is the best way in attempting to finding a solution to change their mind about a subject. Being mad or fake woke which is always aggressive never solves anything because of human nature, you come after someone all mad and shit only makes them more defensive further solidifying their "wrong views" people can be changed gentle course correction does work. Like the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
-
Umm it depends. As someone said already it’s different having differing opinions and being outright hateful.
If they were to be vocal about support for lgbt community, well that’s cool
If they were to be vocal and say that they don’t really get the idea of lgbt or they are just neutral about this but it’s none of their business, I understand if people unstan them but for me personally, Idrc. It’s just different opinions
I will only unstan if they were to come up and say vile shit about the community and make hateful comments about it.

Lgbtq is not a western ideology.
Some of the things expressed in the LGBTQ+ community is very western and new…
A lot of countries can do something with lesbians and gay’s as their existence is known since the beginning of time… some more progressive maybe transgenders too if they move within the binary… that’s about it, everything else would be complete new land for them and just like many people in the west don’t agree with some of the ideologies or fully understand them, it’s even worse in countries like Korea and Co.

Problem with this is the majority of the fake woke are insanely sensitive, they can't differentiate between hate and difference of opinion so anything you say is labled you as an ist of some sort. So someone having a respectful difference of opinion either because they seem to not understand a subject or wasn't exposed etc to a culture or something else will get labeled as bad ad as someone who outright hates xyz, thus removing the change for someone like yourself to find those people, as you yourself get labeled an ist just because you didn't denounce xyz

Especially true here in Korea try explaining what the hell nonbinary means or there's more than one gender? My mom like many other's will look at you like you are speaking another language the shit just doesn't compute for them even when they actually listen to the stuff its like they just can't seem to get it. I won't lie some of this stuff i don't get either and don't agree with to some extent. But for alot of others trying to understand it is like having an aneurysm dividing by zero type thing for them so they will instinctively wave it off as some nonsense

tbh true, I might be able to read the difference but no matter how it's worded, idols can't satisfy everyone. I guess they would have to accept being hated and misunderstood by some along the way to get their views and opinions across, even if they don't mean to be hateful or judgemental, etc.
-
yes I will be very disappointed.
but TWICE fought for the right to perform Born This Way. YES!!!
-
I see all these people like “I know Korea isn’t progressive so…. They’d get a pass” well they’ll never become progressive either if they just get a pass. Fuck them, it could be my own mom and daddy that are homophobic and I’ll drop them.
-
Yes i'd drop stanning and hope for their mind to be opened. Especially if they were actively anti. Why would I support an idol that wouldn't support me if roles were reversed?
If someone was neutral it wouldn't bother me. I am sure a lot of idols don't even think about it considering it is taboo there anyway and not a spoken about issue.

I know right. 'I know Korea isn't progressive', well no country is tbh. The big difference is that in comparison to the western world, at least Korea doesn't have the bullshit viewpoint from religious conservatives who thinks homosexuality is a sin, lol.
There just happens to be good people everywhere; who actually believes everyone should be treated with respect no matter what their gender, race or sexual orientation is.
BTS made clear that they supported the LGBT community, so this is not a question I will have to ask myself. That said, yes, I do expect that the people I love and support wouldn't disrespect me or hate me on sight for who I am
-
fortunately this isn't the case for my faves it's the opposite
-
-
As much as I understand that people have different opinions, this is something I always find hard to stomach. I would definitely unstan even if I didn't want to. My opinion of them would be lowered and it would ruin the group's music for me.
I don't need my idols and artists I like to be saints but I also have limits and deal breakers. Drugs and whatever else are fine but some beliefs and behaviours do put me off. Things like racism, misogyny and homophobia are hard NOs for me.
-
-
Yeah because I'm gay
-
I wouldn't necessarily dump them per se, but I wouldn't be happy about it as I have a personal connection to LGBT people as my daughter is gay and her friend is trans and I support those people. They might have their reasons, but I feel they would be a little bigoted and hope they would change their views.
-
-
Drop them without 2nd thought. Yes people are entitled to their own opinions and beliefs of what they will or won't support, but likewise I am entitled to my own and that's something I won't support
-
I wouldn't care. It's a belief and I respect differences in opinion.
-
immediately unstan and become an anti. how do u "disagree" with someone's sexuality??? especially if they're vile about it.. idc!! any kind of hate, i do not support and I don't support people who speak on things they know nothing about and spit uneducated bs to their fans who will defend them talking about "it's just their opinion" okay it's my opinion to unstan and it's my opinion that i hate them for it!!! suck it up!!
