i miss when kpop had less sjw fans
-
Absolutely
It was my rare, unique, semi-secret hobby. It was such an excitement to see sb who liked kpop/kdramas irl. Now it's the new JB of teenagers
Korean GP actually had an interest in kpop, even mid-sized groups could have top-5 hits
The music was different from the mainstream pop
Having 20m views was considered a hit

Back then, it was one of the most watched kpop Mv's

I miss the old era with the iconic groups before it started getting too westernised. That’s what I miss the most.

I really miss the old variety shows where idols actually interacted with each other and had fun.

I miss the variety shows and the vibe of that time.
I miss when boy groups and girl groups all intermingled on shows like Star Golden Bell and Strong Heart and Star King and Invincible Youth, and when they had no problems joking and bantering with eachother like 2PM and SNSD members did.
It had a very strong family vibe, because there weren't that many K-pop groups and the core of most popular groups felt very tight, with a lot of members of various bg's and gg's being friends with eachother, off and on camera.
It was an atmosphere that had a really good chemistry going between the groups and it was noticeable in variety shows.

I didn't get into Kpop during 1st and 2nd gen, so I can't tell.
I do remember anime community during the 80s. It's was nice before becoming one of the many internet cesspools. I guess Kpop is the same.
Same here
When anime became more mainstream it also created a lot of toxicity but today I feel like it has calmed down. The kpop community has the same vibe but I feel like it's much worse AND I BLAME FUKIN TWITTER FOR THAT SHIT
I know that everyone has different experiences but when it comes from kpop all I hear from people around me is that they perceive fans as immature, obsessive, sensitive, passive-aggressive and crazy.
I don't want the hype to die in the community I just want things to "cool down" when it comes to fans actions online.

I was a big blackjack then but I never minded the views. But now, it's kind of a big deal.

I was a Blackjack too and yes, the views were seen as something cool that your faves did, but they never were the center of attention or viewed as an achievement. You would hardly see articles like "X is the first girl group to reach y number of views in z time."
