What do groups gain from performing on American tv?

Not really it's just as Elle word game.

I feel like just performing doesn't help as much. But if they do actual interviews and activities then yes. That is what gets the public super interested.

Its the same as idols going to Tokopedia or the Japanese music show (forget its name sorry) it helps them gain fans or casuals from the people interested

You don't know maybe a group gets attention there and grow more in US, its a promo tactic

Yeah I don’t know if there are good statistic measures for it. Presumably, it does expose them to people who don’t really listen to Koop so I guess that might get them interested.

yes, it works. if it's a performance - showing the concept of the group, talent and faces of the girls/boys. in the West, we appreciate Korean beauty, so that's an eye-catch too.

if it is interviews, it has a greater impact - the group shows charisma, personality and it is a good time to interest the viewers.

Of course it works to some extent. The problem is that locals dont buy albums. We might become fans of the group but we'll only stream for free or if the group is lucky, we'll give them premium streams on Spotify Premium, YT Premium, Apple, etc.

Pure album sales in the US is atrocious when compared to pure album sales in Asia.

I don't think it does much honestly. The western shows gain attention and views/engagement from the kpop fans. But other then maybe a rare conversion here and there, I don't think it affects the group much at all.

The same thing they gain when performing in Japanese tv, Korean tv and so on. Exposure. Even if a few people check their shit out after seeing them perform on an American show that’s still a win.

I guess as good as nothing, but it also doesn't hurt to do it, no?

Especially during corona now where they do not even have the travel expenses to peform live..
