Gaon themselves said that their digital chart is telling how much money in Korean won a song has earned. So songs from prior years are being streamed a hell of a lot, that's all.

It’s not about that. Right now there are 7 songs older than 6 months on the weekly US Top 100 (on the UK Charts it’s 13 songs). But on the Korean Gaon Charts it’s roughly / round about 60(!) songs, many of them from 2018/2019 (when there was a chart reform which led to more longevity of hits)… This is ridiculous! They should make a rule that songs older than a certain time would fall out of the Top 100 (that wouldn’t stop the listeners from streaming, just making room for more new songs on the list).

Imagine if they would have this current flawed system from the very beginning. We would still see songs of the 80's and 90's charting and not many places free for new releases… XD

Hi i think u misunderstood something.

Gaon chart counts sales/money earned regardless of how long the song charted.

Billboard have implemented recurrent rules as it is a chart to measure popularity (in subjective way). Thats why it included radio airplay (which is not money generating but controlled by radio stations).

Dont see the point of Gaon making recurrent rule if the purpose is to measure revenue as opposed to popularity.

Butter will join top 10 in next few months and if jt paces up good, it can end up winning aoty like dynamite . Another national hit in bag. Will wait for next months to judge!

Dynamite is biggest hit of decade by far. Outsold every 2020 pre chart reform song and is outselling celebrity too. Jeez!
