?
Do other girl groups than Blackpink have a chance to sell 1 million for an album in the next 5 years?
-
-
-
none of them have got above 700k so it doesn't seem likely
But I guess we'll see
-
-
In another 52 years
-
of course everyone had a chance - just like we all have s chance at winninv the lottery and getting cancer - maybe not a high chance but a chance nevertheless
-
-
If it were to happen, it will be a GG from the Big 3. At this moment, I dont think any can do it within the next 5 years.
-
no
-
5 years is a lot of time so it's possible. My bets would be itzy if they continue at good pace, twice eventually.
Twice wont hit 1m.
Anyways maybe a gen 4 group but I doubt it.

Well op is asking who has a chance and they are still the closest, might or might not happen. I also think it's unlikely
-
only fourth gen. the other third gen girl groups have peaked in terms of physicals aside from bp
-
5 years is a long time so Yes. And a group will probably goes with 2M sell for an album in the next 5 years. Kpop become bigger years after years in the world.
1M is nothing with Chinese or India support
-
-
probably aespa
That would be a plot twist but nevertheless possible
-
in 5 years? i bet so
-
yes, if twice also just releases 1 album per year
twice already sells ~600k per album with 3-4 releases per year
4th gen will probably break 1m for an album
kpop international distribution is better and broader now

More and More had 9-month gap from previous release but did not sell near 1 million.

5 years is way too far in the future to make any prediction lmao. In 2011, top groups were SNSD, 2NE1, Kara and T-ARA. In 2016 top groups were Twice (new), Gfriend (new), Red Velvet (new), Blackpink (new) and Apink (debuted in 2010). We most likely don't even know the groups that will be at the top in 3 years.
-
Easy put quality song and album that is friendly to every one and u will sell :)
-
Considering BP took 4 years to reach 1 million is possible the next group that will also sell 1 million in the next 5 years has yet to debut

Blackpink will probably hit 2M this year if they release a full album

Twice had a 9 months hiatus and a lot of hype for the comeback and still couldn’t hit 600k. So idk where you’re getting the 600k per album
-
Practicallly everyone's album sales doubled to tripled last year compared with the years before.
If that trend keeps up, then yes, there's a chance.
At the moment the most likely candidates would be TWICE or IZ*One, but I wouldn't be surprised if a dark horse pops up that will get the 1M sales threshold next (after TWICE and IZ*One, ITZY, RV, Aespa or Baby Monster would seem most likely).

twice doesnt sell 600k PER album, but ONE album
saying PER album, is like saying it's the NORM or USUAL average.
m&m sold 575k, despite having 9 months hiatus.
unless fans are forbidden or will be killed to buy more than 1 album per year, then that logic is both false and stupid.

There's no denying though that album sales have increased significantly for many groups last year.
Just check the album sales of a number of groups last year, then compare with the years before.
If that trend of last year continues in this year, this steady increase in overall album sales, then it gets likelier that the groups with high album sales will get closer and closer to 1M.

Its possible, if the industry keeps growing. I don't really follow charts closely but even I know back in 2nd gen to be a top GG had to sell 100k and SNSD selling 300k was huge. Now 100k is pretty standard for a lot of groups, above 300k is normal for top GGs like IZONE and Twice and 1 million is the new record to beat. Its possible that if the next gen can get into the US market, that numbers will multiply again.

Yes, 5 years is a long time and physical sales are on the rise.
-
5 years is a long time. I think newer girl groups might have a chance.
-
5 years is super long in kpop : 5 years ago, Black Pink didn't even exist.
So yeah, it's possible.
-
It's possible and multiple girl groups will.
You know what? make it 1.5 mil - 2mil for 4th gen.
-
Watch bp hit 2m before other gg breaks 1m lmao
-
snsd comeback yep yep
-
i believe dreamcatcher could. their sales double at every comeback, even for a 4 song mini album. their last album debuted with 24k and has a lifetime sales of 100k+ so far.
their album from today debuted with double the sales 45k and will probably see 200k lifetime sales.
if they continue to grow as rapidly as they are, and all signs point to them growing even faster in the future, they could do it. they have the benefit of a strong fanbase over gp listeners (more boy group like than girl group)

Nah BP will probably hit 2M this year, they’ll be the first and last gg to do that. No gg will surpass 1.5M other than blackpink
