Might be a while before I do this kind of threads again since my focus will be about Day'6 new album which is coming out tomorrow, so here it is, an analysis of Day's sub-unit debut "Where The Sea Sleeps" MV
First thing you see is obviously the picture with 5 hands, representing all 5 members, Sungjin and Jae aren't in this comeback
You see in the MV is the MyDay compass on the table, and this will be very important later on
If you guys didn't know, MyDay's logo is this, I'ma put it in a spoiler because the picture is big
Just a very subtle part, but Dowoon (Dog Denimalz) falls when the song says "we may stumble or topple"
They fixed everything and finally leave on their journey
A glimpse of Sungjin (Bear Denimalz) and Jae (Chicken Denimalz)
But soon after they got hit by a meteorite
Dowoon protecting his hyungs all my feelz
Now this scene is really important, out of all the things to do, Young K (Fox Denimalz) choose to reach for the MyDay compass which I mentioned earlier. This shows how much Day6 depend on us MyDays whenever there is trouble (in this case, spaceship crashing)
They all crash landed into the ocean of an unknown planet, and Wonpil (Bunny Denimalz) had a dream of some sort where he is all alone on the boat, with the lyrics going "Please don't leave me by myself"
But then his friends appeared
Again with the MyDay compass, to guide them on where to go
And they finally reach a safe place where the sea sleeps
One of the key highlights in this MV is the MyDay compass that plays a significant role in the MV. It shows that no matter what happens, Day6 will always be sure to count on MyDays whenever they need us. The MV also shows that no matter what happens, the members will always be there for each other, from the boat scene.
The album itself is also titled The Book Of Us: Gluon - Nothing Can Tear Us Apart. Gluon essentially means
Which highlights the main theme of the album and song, that no matter what happens, Day6 and MyDays will always be there for each other, Day6 members themselves will always be supporting and be there for each other, no matter what happens, because nothing can tear us/them apart. This is especially symbolic and sentimental because this is the first time Day6 has been apart, that is Sungjin and Jae did not take part in this sub-unit because they were having mental anxiety issues. And this album perfectly conveys these feelings that no matter what happen, and what each other go through, they will always be there for each other, and they know that MyDays will always be there waiting and supporting Day6
And now remember the song's last line "To the place where the sea sleeps"? Yes, they are here now, at the sea meeting each other in their newest MV teaser, as 5 members
