Changed the title of the thread from “Is a 22 year old dating an 18 yearold okay?” to “Is a 22 year old dating an 18 year old okay?”. -
in my country fully legal by law,
and also very normal thing
-
idk what's wrong about it
-
-
18-22 is fine because they're in the same era of life.
-
It's fine, back in the first year of uni i had someone who was 18 and another person who has 23 on my course. You wouldn't be able to tell the age difference neither because of looks nor maturity
both are adults who can but are not necessarily mature
it might not work out but i don't see anything wrong with trying
-
Yeah? At least where I'm from the age of consent is 18. I do have qualms with older men dating high school girls though (like 18+). At least wait until they're in college. But that's my personal preference talking.
-
It's just 4 years difference. It's not like 22 years old are mentally better than 18 years old. Maybe if the difference was 10+, it could raise an eyebrow. It's legal anyway. 18 years old can fuck or be fucked by any adult age as long it is consensual.
-
-
How about a 26 years old who had dated a 19 years old?
-
-
Yes. Are both adults so not a problem.
-
I dont see any problem
-
If they choose to. It's legal in my country. An 18 dating a 16 year old, that's a different story.
-
They are both adults and a 4 year age gap is small enough. It’s fine.
-
``well, it is my post so i tend to talk about Iu

yup, when I saw your username I knew who you were talking about even though I didn't know how old they were at the time :D
-
That's pretty normal. I dislike when the college kids try and make passes at the newly -freshmen girls who are usually 14ish.
-
Sounds normal to me.
-
it’s only a four year difference, it might seem big when they’re younger, but it really isn’t a that much of an age gap
-
It's better for them to have that age gap instead of being exactly the same age or anything. I like the guy to be some years older than me .
-
-
Ofc okay, thay are adults!
-
Yes, of course, where i'm from this is not considered a big age gap. A couple of years of age difference is usually not visible or apparent.
I think other things are more important while dating - like at what point of your life are you, what are your wishes for the relationship,...
-
Nothing wrong with it
-
I don't think it's a problem, but different countries have a different perspective. In my country, it's okay for the age gap even as long both parties family agrees.
-
It's okay, here in my country 18 is legal age
-
They’re both legal adults, so I don’t see a problem with it. Where I am from, it is not see as a problem at all. Now, if it was a 17 year old dating a 22 year old or something like that, that’s a huge problem, and should most definitely be dealt with.

In what way do you think it should be dealt with?
-
I think it is fine. The age gap isn't that big and they are both in the same stage of life.
-
I saw even bigger differences in age. It's totally fine.
-
There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. A 4 year age gap is really not much. In fact, that's very normal especially when the guy is older. Women is more matured thinking than guys so having an age gap kind of sets the maturity balance.
-
-
My parents literally have a 10 year age difference
-
-
As long as the 18 year old has graduated high school I don’t see anything weird with it.
-
In what way do you think it should be dealt with?
Dealt with as in obvious consequences. I’m sure it’s illegal for a 17 year old and a 22 year old to be together, and even if it’s not, it’s still very weird because the underage individual is still in high school.
-
I was 17 and dating a 21 year old. That quickly, in like, four months, became 18 and dating a 22 year old. It really didn’t seem a big deal at the time - age of consent is 16.
But I remember when I was 16, I went on a date with a guy from the office I was working with on my school break and he knew my age because he was in HR and dealing with my contract... and then I found out he was 29, which I knew was more than a bit creepy.
-
I don't think age gap in a consenting relationship is anyone's business after both are adults
-
yes it is. It just sounds weird even though its only a 4 year difference
-
yes. I dont think it as a problem
-
Of course it is, both are legal adults and the age gap isn't big.
-
yes it's ok both are of legal age and its only a four year age difference which if you look it up is considered an idea age difference. I think it comes down to the level of maturity of both parties and if they are on the same page or not.
