Some of my friends dislike my faves and my fandoms
But I don't care, cause they are decent people, they just attack them with bullshit like charts, awards or saying their songs are bad
So I just attack their faves and fandoms back
even if I like themWe are very playful around each other
I could not do that for the life of me lol my friends are kind of too chill in that sense

Not everything should be taken completely seriously you know

I don’t hate any fandom so sure, i can be friends with people from other fandoms.
Let’s not be fandomist, people

Sorry for derailing, it is my fault. It was just too tempting, I could not resist.
About your question : hating a whole fandom seems weird to me honestly. They are certainly fandoms who have more people I find annoying than others but I think I still manage to see people as individuals and not solely based on who they are a fan of. So I am sure I could be friend irl with someone from any fandom, if we have other common interests of course. I would certainly not be less close of my friends even if I suddenly learn one of them is a Blink or an Exol Lol

Yes, the only time kpoop fans have bothered me irl was years ago when girls at school were going off calling Hyuna a slut
Damn wwtf ? Like generally girls like that piss me off

Well, I suppose you can make generalizations about fandoms i.e "this fandom is so toxic" or "this fandom is amazing", but even then, the reality is that fandom comprises many individuals. So some might not be that toxic like most are or whatever. So, I'm guessing your friends aren't the bad parts of the fandom, which might make it easier to get along with them.
But, if your friends don't mind you hating their fandom and you don't talk much about the fandoms in the first place, I wouldn't see an issue. Like, it's clearly not affecting your relationships so I wouldn't worry.

I usually got along fine with them but they were absolute caricatures of female idol hating bg fans lol

i literally could not care less, i’m not taking kpop politics into my everyday life...that’s exhausting (even then, i don’t think i would hate, that’s a very strong word)
as long as they’re not annoying, i can love anyone and be friends with them!
-
Obviously. Why would you spend your life hating a fandom that doesn’t give a fuck about you?
And also there are shitty people everywhere. Just because you have run into some you didn’t like doesn’t mean you should be generalizing a whole arse fandom.
And people here should also learn to separate kpop from their daily lives, it’s just music at the end of the day. Don’t let it distort your social life
Have a good day
