Is it fair to say Lsfm is out the top 5 if this comeback flops?

Exactly what I thought! So I wrote below Gidle in my opening post rather than out top 5 completely
I left it in the title for click bait
-
Haters will never let them flop, trust.

They'll be fine.
As far as their respective subsidiary gives them an actual opportunity to showcase their vocals, earlier on then they will be fine but LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, and ILLIT set the bar too high.
-
I mean LSRF have always been consider below these gg by a big part of kpop fans
All the groups mention have had more than 1 hit in korea
Ive ( pretty much all their tt)
Njz ( same for nj until the mess of hybe)
Aespa (next level, savage, supernova)
Gidle ( tomboy, nxude, fate )
I think the only lsrf songs who truly made a big impact in charts is perfect night

And Illit!
I think Njz and Illit set the bar a little too high! Lsfm had humble beginnings tbh they only hit big from Anti-fragile era
This comeback has to do better there’s no way Lsfm can go from a number 1 group to charting at 70
lets see if the public forgives them

True! But now I think it comes to question is top5 now becoming top4
imo this comeback will decide! I mean people gave Itzy a harder time and their drop was way less drastic
-
80% of kpop can't even chart at all. 70 is something.

Basically this

"digitally flopped" while smart is literally THE most streamed 4th gen song of 2024 (first one is obviously magnetic which was a viral hit). They've not made any comeback yet and Crazy is already the most streamed group song of 2025, my girls entered hot 100 twice last year and have the second most streamed track on apple music (again magnetic being first). At least back up your opinion with some logics 🫡

Actually i would consider Itzy drop more drastic
in the sense that they drop cuz the public didn't care about them anymore, nothing special happen
Lsrf very poor performance was cuz they were impacted by a scandal, if there was no scandal their drop would have not been drastic and they would have probably make it into the top 10

Idle charts so well on k charts and you all still discredit them, lesserafim peaked everywhere except korean charts and you are calling them "digitally flopped". I think it depends on y'all's mood swings. 😂

I was going to make a thread about BABYMONSTER being bigger than LSF. I know deep down it's true, but the numbers just don't support it yet.
-
I honestly jsut can't wrap my head around the concept of ranking kpop by anything other than "Here's the Top 5 Groups I like"
Everything else is just the root cause of pretty much a lot the toxicity and stupid that fandoms war over. In a more male oriented fandom, I'd dare say it's the cause of... ahem... dick measuring contests (and some males on here definitely seem to do that over numbers)
Like seriously.
The CLEAR Top 5 Gen 4 groups are actually
3. Le Sserafim
4. weeekly (RIP so might have to change this)
5. LSF
6. IVE (to become 5 if weeekly is bumped)
That is the clearest, truest Top 5 by the only metric that actually counts or matters. What I like.
But your Top 5 will obviously be different. -
how are we measuring lsfm success?
I know spotify doesn't tell the whole story but they globally out-streamed Aespa, Ive, and gidle in 2024.
Global Top K-Pop Artist 2024
top 20 songs
1. "Who” by Jimin
2. “Seven (feat. Latto)” by Jungkook
3. “Standing Next to You” by Jungkook
4. “Love Me Again” by V
6. “APT.” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars
7. “FRI(END)S” by V
8. “Like Crazy” by Jimin
9. “3D (feat. Jack Harlow)” by Jungkook
10. “Rockstar” by LISA
11. “Perfect Night” by LE SSERAFIM
12. “Smart” by LE SSERAFIM
13. “Super Shy” by NewJeans
14. “Drama” by aespa
15. “SHEESH” by BABYMONSTER
16. “New Woman (feat. ROSALÍA)” by LISA
17. “Supernova” by aespa
18. “EASY” by LE SSERAFIM
19. “Haegeum” by Agust D
Also, album sales they weren't that far apart from the other big groups

We have provided more information on this in our privacy policy.I think their biggest challenge is winning back mind share in Korea. I think their reputation took a major hit last year due to all of the scandals. Globally, they're doing better than most and are preparing for a world tour. They're still right there with the other groups imo but they need to improve their reputation in Korea.

I don't understand one thing. Ive and gidle last comebacks absolutely bombed internationally. Tragic global streams. So why don't you'll kick them out of top5 too? I personally don't see much difference in Ive, gidle and lsf. I'd even argue crazy global performance was much more impressive than whatever gidle and Ive achieved on kcharts for their recent comebacks.
-
They will have a #1 hit both internationally and domestically this year, you heard it here first. And their seniors will be doing the same. 2025 is the year of YG girl groups
though that does make me wonder if any gg from same labels have had #1 hit in the same year. oh nevermind, probably hybe groups.
-
I would deny them a seat at the table because I don't like them and the dinner party will be going after 9:30pm, which is probably bed time for half the members.

Can’t speak for everyone else but imo what makes a top group in Korea is if it does well in domestic charts regardless of international charting etc
It’s why people call gg that do well in everything but domestic charting a bg
What made top groups in previous gens were consistent and stable charting in Korea regardless of international charting
-
-
I already mentionned Perfect night
and by big hit i only mention songs who got a PAK, or were big enough to be consider a national hit in korea
AF is bigger than PN like it’s platinum in Korea, same goes to fearless. So no.
-
I am curious which group can challenge the current top 5. It seems they should have strong staying power with most of them not reaching the 7 year mark. I think all 5 groups have a strong fan base that supports each comeback. So, it will be interesting to see how things fall in place in the next 2 years

I was thinking this too! Also compared 4th gen to 3rd overall! Did 4th gen peak higher/ better achievements but 3rd gen have better longevity peak
Not sure it’s a fair question though

Times have changed alot. Now international streams , touring are absolutely a valid metric to judge a group. For me if you flop on global streams u r no more a high tier group just like if you flop on kcharts. Only 4th gen ggs doing well overall are njz and aespa. After that the groups r either flopping on kcharts or global streams. So I guess its just top2 pretty much like 3rd gen lol
