This year has been a harsh lesson and ugly reminder of how there are no "good" companies in this industry

  • So please stop stanning and defending them.

    We've seen:

A small company CEO exposed for being a sexual predator who should've been arrested a week ago

The "good" Big 4 company exposed for their criminally abusive "training" practices

And the big company that "believes in music" exposed for saejegi, maintaining an internal document filled with hate comments that would put the harshest K-Netizens to shame, manipulated their IPO process to defraud their retail shareholders and pocket hundreds of millions of USD, pay off the media to manipulate public opinion, and have a toxic work culture perpetuated by their problematic CEOs with a history of degenerate and scumbag behavior

How many wake up calls do people need?

    Stop stanning these companies

  • People mix up employees of companies with the companies. Just because one or two employees have done something wrong don't mean the whole company are bad. You also have Idols that do bad thinks or have a bad personality.

Companies are companies, they are an crucial part of the daily life and important for kpop. Without them we would not have any kpop.

  • I disagree in part. I wouldn't call them company stans.

    They are company stans.

    And stop stanning CEOs :pepe-tea:

    Agreed. It's stupid.

I only stan idols and producers :pepe-tea:

Lucky they aren't in the US where we laud CEOs being gunned down in the streets. There is clearly some need for a reformation of sorts in the kpop industry but as you said, how many more wake up calls is it gonna take.

I wonder if we can get another crusty, toxic and archaic union to put out a statement to condone the perpetuation of abusive practices for the good of the industry

Thanks for sharing. Your pro-company agenda remains as pathetic as the last time you shared.

These companies wouldn't be shit nor would they accomplish shit without the idols they regularly abuse for profit or worse.

Huh ? Well I’m sorry but in a regular company even if only two employees are toxic I will still not want to work in the said company. Employees are apart of a company so yes if the staff is trash then the company is trash.

Without them we would not have any kpop.

    No shit Sherlock

  • I only stan what they can do for my favorite idols, not the person themselves :pepe-tea:

    I have a song recommendation

  • YG is not that bad afterall considering that their former artists have had still good relationship with Yang Hyunsuk.. ^^

That's doesn't say much JYP has a good relationship with most of his former idols including at least somewhat KG as she praised him. I think people have to stop thinking just because the idols may have liked the CEO, that means the company was all great or not bad.

  • Isn’t it well known that working conditions at Korean corporations in general, not just K-pop companies, are often brutal?

I feel like our perspective of Korea is limited to just K-pop understandably, but let’s not forget it’s a societal issue above all.

This is why I keep encouraging you all to stop being so fixated on numbers because it’s a slippery slope. Before you know it, you start seeing idols, countries, and each other not as people, but as numbers. I dislike how the corporate mentality has trickled down to the fans.

  • Was JYPE really exposed here? We have stories from all their groups of members having to go on extreme diets. Let me quote a master

"They are who we thought they were!" - Dennis Green

    Yes

International fans needed a wake up call. Several times throughout this year I've seen threads on other platforms praising JYP, the man and the company, for how well they take care of their artists' well-being compared to the other big labels. Well, in the worst way imaginable, all those people are forced to accept that JYP isn't an outlier in any way.

The only legitimate outlier I saw was OG ADOR, and that's gone for good. For now.

    JYP? Seriously?

That man and/or the company literally overwork their artists and spend little to no effort on the comebacks of their older artists including Twice, ITZY.. that's one of the biggest reason they have the highest profit margin because they barely reinvest the profits into the groups and just milk them + the fans

Spot on. Anyone who’s worked in a company knows that when toxic behaviour is overlooked, it poisons the entire atmosphere. Employees reflect the leadership, and if toxicity is tolerated, it’s on the company to address it. Poor management ruins both the culture and reputation.

  • Of course every company have its bad side, but for the one that got exposed just show how significant the 'issue'. Everyone can see how there is always issue for companies every year. The artists themselves should lodge a report for the wrongdoings, if they can't speak up then how would their fans who never go inside the company can helps them to make the report. It's hard for the fans, but some should just stop justify the wrongdoing of the companies.

  • Kpop companies always have been the worst. Slave contracts, crazy diets, lack of sleep, sexual abuse, debt/scams. You name it they've done it.

Lucky they aren't in the US where we laud CEOs being gunned down in the streets. There is clearly some need for a reformation of sorts in the kpop industry but as you said, how many more wake up calls is it gonna take.

Elon musk used Twitter to spread misinformation, get around directly buying votes (his 1m giveaway) and now is part of the gov. A CEO basically manipulated an entire election and is rewarded with more opportunities to get even richer and more powerful.

Trump himself was a businessman and celeb and he became president. Twice.

America praises CEOs a shit ton.

  • I mean even in this thread people are still pointing out that x is better and y isnt so bad

Bro the other day I opened insta and some fans were thirsting over YG the man and praising him and im like?? whats this 2013???

I wonder its theyre new fans bc I once wasnt aware of how things worked. Apart from numerous scandals my biggest realizition happened after witnessing things go full circle with a clear rise and fall of a generation.

  • Yes

I guess the reason I'm confused is many JYPE fandoms have shit on JYPE constantly for mistreatment against the members of all their groups. I do agree that JYPE had a bit of a better rep but it wasnt untarnished. ,Maybe its just what you were seeing from company Stans which isn't really instructive of the whole.

Two things can be true at the same time. I'm aware that JYPE fandoms roast JYPE on the regular, but the consensus opinion I've seen just from the average K-Pop fan, who may not be specifically be in a JYPE fandom, is that JYPE is the "good company" and JYP is the least problematic CEO. This isn't something I've seen once or twice in isolation but an opinion I've seen many, many times over several years; this isn't a tiny sample size or just a couple of personal anecdotes.

Like I said just above, you won't see any disagreements from me regarding JYP or JYPE; this is just a common opinion or sentiment I've seen from other K-Pop fans. I think most K-Pop veterans, who aren't company bootlickers, understand there are no saints in this business.

  • There are no good k-companies. There are just lesser evils.

The only instance where you can say a company is good for their artist is when we are talking about companies established by an idol which manage only said idol.

JYPE may indeed be a good company and JYP may be the least problematic. But in an industry that is rampant with abuse that is deemed "normal" and "necessary" that doesnt mean much. The fact remains, yes people have overly hyped JYPE for being good, but there have also been plenty of criticism of JYPE and its practices for years. But I agree, maybe this has broken that illusion for some but for some as well this has only confirmed what we have already seen from previous JYPE groups and indeed from groups around Kpop

  • The only reason why JYPE seem the "less bad" is because the other Big 4 are worse

YGE literally is a criminal syndicate

SM has lawsuits with almost all the members who left their groups. TVXQ SNSD EXO

Then there's HYBE, I have nothing good to say to about oily mess blob

If you think about it JYPE has the most number of hiatus members. Just that they seemingly come back "recovered" but there must be some problematic shit happening for it to happen in the first place.

And their members leave just with a snap of the finger. At least they don't fight lawsuits with them they just disappear

  • Maybe I'm too old to understand this, but I'm never gonna understand how can people stan a company or even a CEO. Like, did they escape from a mental hospital?

How can you support a company or a CEO that bullying and abusing your favorite artists on a daily basis.

Honestly, so many fandoms prove every time something bad happens to Idols that they only stan NUMBERS!

Btw, it's not just the BIG4, it's the whole industry!

So if I work for a company that hava 100 000 workers and 1000 of them are "trash" the company is trash?
