Do you think you should only be allowed to post critical threads about a group if you're a fan of said group?

It’s a free world.

Gatekeeping is a stupid concept.

Spending cash money on concert tickets (multiple times?) gives you a free pass to say whatever about any group that may or may not have had a digital hit in a while
I'm in the clear then
I've seen Twice multiple times
Next year I see aespa
Overall I think makeing thread just to attack an other group is wrong, in cases like that I think it better to make threads adressing the problems or what you don't like in kpop, even if that indirectly means people sometimes can guess what groups you don't like.
Nobody is on here writing hit pieces like a HYBE lapdog journalist. Anything that crosses the line and devolves into a flame war gets shut down by moderators anyway

There are objective criteria to determine hit songs, so yes.
People need to realize that, while we are all fans of specific groups, MOST of us are fans of the genre itself.
If not for NewJeans, I wouldn't be a hardcore fan of any current generation group, and that wouldn't stop me from making threads.
Or would people just default to shading Mamamoo (as if that would bother a Day One fan like me) in retaliation because tribalism and parasocial behavior is all they know?

yes yes I saw your reply to the horse in the Twice thread, I'm not suggesting we aren't allowed to have discussions like that. But let's not pretend that thread was not provoked by other users or meant to invite genuine discussion. So I don't agree with that particular thread but generally it's fine to have discussions like that, even though I don't think they mean much.
interesting, I was expecting you to just fade out of existence if they end up disbanding.

I was a K-Pop fan 2 years before Mamamoo debuted and a decade before NewJeans debuted.
The only way I go away is if I lose interest in the genre and community as a whole. But it's unlikely to happen. My interest in a hobby may wane over time but it never dies, and it could suddenly rise like a stock's share price too.
But to your first comment, my threads are always meant to invite genuine discussion. It's on the individual person whether they engage in the subject matter or take it personal.
I could be MUCH nastier to the fandoms who function as my opps, and they are generally MUCH nastier towards the groups they think are my favorites, so if anything, I have the patience of a saint.
I have never once said anything unfair or untrue about any group. Can't say the same for others when it comes to Mamamoo or NewJeans, but I rarely complain.

only magas should criticize trump ?

I chose everyone should be allowed to criticize groups -- as long as they're not being asses and actually can maintain maturity levels and common sense.

Not that I have any problem with it, just calling it how I see it. Could it have been a thread for genuine discussion if made by anyone other than you? Sure, but you've obviously built up some negative stock with the Onces here so you I'm sure you are fully aware of the reaction the thread will get.

My agenda is larger than petty squabbles with a fandom. There are thread ideas and concepts I sit on for months at a time. That's why I eventually transitioned to YouTube for about 5 years and just made videos instead.
I honestly think most of these agitated fandoms should be happy I'm not more aggro towards them than I am. It is the good, respectful fans that stay my hand.
But discussions can't always be peaceful and pleasant conflict-free zones. If I want to make a thread, even knowing it will run people the wrong way, I will. And even with that mindset, I still lighten the force of my words and messaging to be more...palatable, because I know how sensitive K-Pop stans are.
I did not do that on Reddit, and we saw how that ended for me once I started spilling scalding tea on all the HYBE oppalogists there

Do we really want segregation among K-pop fans? I find it cliquey and pretentious as is when fandoms look down on and ostracize each other and multistans.

I'm not even sure what your agenda is atp. There are moments I think your whole persona is a highly elaborate troll crafted over years. I'll just say as a neutral observer that users coming into your threads hot is 100% self inflicted lol.

Ah, I see what this is about.
I think it can be annoying when non-fans randomly gossip about my faves or point out something related to charts about my faves. I get that. It doesn’t come from a place of appreciation. Rather, it’s for ulterior motives.
In that case, I’d say give them the Will Smith treatment. Tru-Multistan would agree.
But if it’s coming from a place of appreciation, I’m all for non-fans, non-stand, and casual fans contributing.
We only gatekeep against the disingenuous ones. The charts-obsessed warmongering ones.

Yes, reddit is less flopped than us at least
All hail reddit

Tru-Multistan about to give everyone the Will Smith special!

Well... I guess if someone critiques my faves and I get offended, then it is my problem, and I need to be more tolerant.

I definitely don't and have no reason to pretend otherwise. I don't know why people would doubt that, because they really need to tell me what I could gain from lying.
And there is zero tension between aespa fans and Bunnies. I see absolutely no conversation about anything but aespajeans in Bunnies discussion circles.
All the tension comes from me

As far as it's respectful and not hate or shade, then yeah why not?

Why does almost all of what you say (that I've seen) include some sort of self-appraisal?

That's a ridiculous question. Figure out the answer for yourself.

technically anybody any can a thread about anything and everything
it's how one gets judged from others for making said thread that matters no?
like even in your poll - you mentioned trolling/hatred - everyone is even free to make trolling/hate threads if they want
but others have the right to call out said threads or report them or whatever
even if the thread wasn't troll/hatred - people can still call you out on it depending on the nature of said thread
