  • Other than "VAMPIRE" she did pretty good. That song is another "Dangerously". The other 3 songs are the ones in her range. Don't know why she keeps picking the hardest songs to sing.

you are confusing the word "out of her range " with doing unnecessarily vocal runs. I heard a vocalist talking about this how she used to do it when she was starting and this is something she will probably fix later. She is probably told to do that.

But in my opinion she doesn't need to do high notes when there aren't needed all the time. it's like when Christina Aguilera does it. Yes sure yes she can but sometimes it can be a bit repetitive. That's the case with Ahyeon. She can belt and do high notes easily but she can't control it yet maybe because she is too young. She will eventually I'm sure.

She is really a nice vocalist she just need to learn how to use her strenghts the right way. Other than that I love her voice and her vocal tone as well.

Yes she just needs to learn to control her voice and from what she said, she seems to be quite aware of that and constantly working on it. I personally thought she did well on all songs, David can go kick rocks.

I love her voice, and the duet was right on point :nayeon2:

I agree this was my favorite part as well, but she sounded great throughout!

But aside from the songs, this was a good opportunity to let fans get to know her a bit better outside of the group, which I really enjoyed. She seems very smart and self aware, especially for someone who is just 17.

I have a feeling superyeah will appreciate the bigbang and gdragon covers.

  • so far in this comeback area, BM members are flexing their vocals here and there, and ı love it.

What you're saying is true in most cases, but "Vampire" doesn't suit her range at all, also her vocal tone, because it's one of the hardest song. Even Olivia is screaming for like 2 minute, but the song was made for her style, so she doesn't sound bad. Ahyeon doesn't have the agility YET to sing songs like this one, and her voice is sharp.

I said the same thing many times, I'm like 99.99% sure YG asking her to do this. He did the same with Jennie.

She can do high notes, but as you said, sometimes it feels like she's only doing it to look more badass. Kpop fans are obsessed with high notes and fast rapping, too. This is also on the company. My biggest problem with Ahyeon's high notes are not even the fact that she doesn't do it the right way, because she's young, she can develop, but her vocal tone isn't suited for the high notes because even her talking voice is high-pitched already.

Yes, she can't control it yet, because she's too young. There aren't many young singers who can do that at her age. Rami and Rora are better, but they aren't perfect either.

That Flower Road cover was great. Those type of songs she should focus on more, but I don't trust YG, honestly. So far, it looks like he loves to promote them as real vocalists, so maybe he's gonna hire vocal coaches and stop forcing them to things they can't do yet.

  • YG should give all those high notes and complex vocal parts to Rami not Ahyeon!

And Babymonster stans can paint me as haters but as an actual vocalist I’m not happy about how Ahyeon sings those songs like Vampire or Dangerously or triple modulation high note in Drip

I will give my personal experience!

I sang for one hour belting Adele songs and guess what happened? I couldn’t sing for two weeks and I got sick! Thankfully my vocal cords weren’t damaged!

Babymonster is going to tour next year and the real problems will start then!

Sure her vocal cords will be fine when she sings several songs but to sing constantly like that on tours will destroy all her vocal cords!

Even professional vocalist like Mariah Carey lost her vocals!

Or take Adele, Miley Cyrus they had vocal chord surgeries…

Like YG is so incompetent giving 17 year old girl these songs that are clearly out of her range and agility

  • Exactly. I can already see Ahyeon losing the ability to sing if YG keeps pushing her. But hey, there's a silver-lining if it's gonna happen: YG will have 6 other members still. 🙄

I mean, Ahyeon never gonna be the next Taeyeon, Wendy, Ailee or Solar etc, but with proper training she could be in the conversation for sure.

Rami and Rora as well would suit an SME group so much better. I don't get why Yang don't give them more chance to shine. Maybe because neither of them look like the typical Kpop visuals, and tbf Ahyeon and Miss Banana Girl were already much popular before their debut.

  • You are a hater and you've never said anything positive about the group or their music, go away.

I don't want to, because I don't want to hurt my foot. 🤣

I said, 3 out of 4 covers were great, what more do you want from me? I was fair. :crycat3:

    :angy:

fine, your criticism is fair and I agree I think YG is really just forcing this on her for viral moments and needs to stop with their next comeback.

Singing high notes all the time is not healthy for anyone!

Like look at even Ailee best vocalist of Kpop! She had to change her technique cuz she got vocal nodules…

Since then she uses her mixed voice and head-mix most of the time, when previously she sang all the time with overpowered chest voice belting even in higher 5th octave!

    Like I don’t understand YG!

And who is miss banana girl? Chiqiuta?

he thinks average ıdol life as seven years or something like that and don't care the future, he is a bussines man , he gain by selling concerts, albums and merch. ı don't think bm will last longer 7 years tho, they will slowly fade away unless they get recognition from their country. and bm members are too young to think about themselves.

Just look at the thread about 3 100m streams in one album..🤣

And probably I’m the person who streamed like that the most in this forum

And it is more 1000 times

  • okay you said ONE positive thing, I still maintain that you are a baemon hater until I see enough evidence suggesting otherwise. But I appreciate your input as a vocalist since that's not something I know a lot about personally.

How can I be the hater of Babymonster when my little sister is the biggest fan of them🤣

Like she all the time dances and sings to Babymonster songs and I unwillingly have learned most of their songs🤣

You can actually hear live how her vocal folds are straining.

    But she's young.

In my opinion she just need more training to not get nodules.

That's it. She sounds amazing anyway.

  • sometimes I don't know f you are a troll or not you are just trying to be edgy for sake of it and I'm not saying this because of your comments about baemon but all your comments are lke you are trying to much to have an unpopular opinion about everything.

    About what or which groups?

I simply state what I like and what I don’t

    Simple as that

  • he thinks average ıdol life as seven years or something like that and don't care the future, he is a bussines man , he gain by selling concerts, albums and merch. ı don't think bm will last longer 7 years tho, they will slowly fade away unless they get recognition from their country. and bm members are too young to think about themselves.

I mean, to be fair, most Idol groups fade away after 7 years or didn't last that long and disband. Most Kpop fans know that Idols usually wants to be Idols because later they want to be actors.

But for me, it's irritating as hell to see real talents getting wasted for a couple of millions of dollars for 5-7 years. And it's not like YG or any other company would lose billions if they give these kids proper training and healthcare, including MENTAL care.

This is why I always preferred small agency artists, because even if their groups disband, they can still have a career in the music industry if they're talented. Yes, they won't top charts and will have 1B stream, but couldn't care less if they release quality albums.

Also, yes, BM members are too young to care about themselves, but they have parents, managers, and their agencies. Sadly, in Korea, I can't see parents taking a stand against any company. At least when it comes to training, and healthcare. The whole country has a massive drinking problem, and they're workaholics. Their managers are the secondary puppets next to the Idols. So they don't really have anyone who protects them.
