2016 will be forever my year of kpop GG supremacy

Like many others 2018 was the best to me, but 2022 was great and 2023 was really strong too. I think we're in a new golden era of ggs. I think in 2030 we'll look back at 2022-2024 as like one of those classic stretches for ggs, just like we (rightfully) do with 2016-2018.

2014 have Mr.Mr, Come Back Home, Mamma Mia, Catallena, Mr Chu, LUV, Touch My Body, Miniskirt, Up & Down, Like A Cat, Something, Sugar Free

I prefer 2020, because

Blackpink: HYLT and Lovesick Girls era was legendary

Everglow: Dun Dun and Ladida are probably one of the best songs in kpop

Dreamcatcher: Scream and Boca both SOTY material

Itzy: Wannabe one of the catchiest song I know

aespa: Black Mamba is the best song by aespa IMO.

Twice: I Cant Stop me and More & More are good songs

Irene & Seulgi: Monster is freaking BOP , Naughty is good too.

IZ*ONE: Secret Story of the Swan is bop and they got many good b sides that year

Loona: Released "Star" the best song they have

Mamamoo: Dingga was bop

Gidle: Oh My god and Dumdi Dumdi was decent, but not the strongest year by them by me

Oh My Girl: Finally got some popularity they deserved

Illela is nice but Starry Night, Egotistic and Wind Flower are all better title tracks individually.

Feel my rhythm was a top-tier Red Velvet comeback but no better than Bad Boy or RBB. i am going to pretend that Power Up does not exist because i don't like this song.

Talk that Talk is in my opinion the worst Twice Korean title tracks but in 2018 they released the masterpiece What is love, the sympathetic Dance the night away and even Yes or Yes is better.

D4 is such a gem and for SNSD we got the Lil Touch sub-unit. I was addicted to Latata and Hann, Tomboy not so much.

I think because people are so set in what songs they think are best

Nobody realizes that 2023 was the most dominant year of GG (and idol music in general)

8 of the top 10 was girl group music

15 of the top 20 of 2023 year end were girl group songs.

If you include idol group members(boys and girls) the top 20 of 2023 is 18/20

The last time more than half the top 10 was idol music was 2012

And no year had more than 11 of the top 20 being just idol music

For comparison

2018 and 2022 had 8/20 be idol music in general
