I think wasian is most probably a stan twitter term, i haven't seen it being used anywhere else either but im seeing lots of posts calling somi "wasian queen" etc on stan twitter after her recent controvery. What's "hapa" supposed to mean?

Hapa the word actually has a pretty interesting history. It came into the native Hawaiian language by way of English - their pronunciation of the English word "half". It eventually came to mean "part" and since there are a lot of mixed people, became often used to describe those of mixed asian heritage. Kind of like the Japanese "hafu"

It started with calling black/asian people "blasian" and it just snowballed from there

I don't think so . According to internet her parents are korean . Even by look wise she looks full asian.

ah no, I saw it too. Its just ranking someone based on their race or in this case mixed race is weird to me.
But I get it, since they are mixed race so the poll would not make any sense without it.
Interesting because to me Danielle doesn't look asian at all, in fact, i was surprised when i found out she is half korean
