    Actually pretty wild they only outsold NJ by that much. Thought it'd be by like 3+ mill. Actually makes it seem more absurd they won when you factor in the difference with digitals/overall impact.

    BG's never get a lot of digitals, so it's really confusing on how they even base the criteria for the winners.

    It's really so confusing. I'm not saying that Dream did or didn't deserve the award, I just don't think they should be slandered the way they are being slandered everywhere. People really should be taking their anger out on MMA and not Dream, and believe me, simply search nct dream all over the place and the hate is rampant.

    It's based on overall achievements. So it's not decided by digitals only. Also, the difference in sales is not that big for it to make sense that nct dream won, especially since it's melon. Are you saying nct dream should get the award out of pity?

    Hehehe, goood shade 8) I've always asked myself that to be honest. Without a doubt she's one of, if not the best female vocalist in kpop. Only Wendy, Hyolin etc can rival her. She came from one of the most influential groups in kpop. Her solo career is so high quality. What is missing?

    Never did i insinuate anything about pity. Im saying if album sales for the year were the criteria they were ahead of them.


    However, since im informed its not based on just album sales, I DONT KNOW the full judging criteria, and i simply said that bg's usually do not do well in digitals, its a fact.

    Do not fight over this award. It's literally a 5 year old award decided on by the judges that has zero criteria. It was clearly created as a "daesang" they could choose to give to groups who don't hit on any of the criteria to win the actual daesangs.


    The real disrespect is them being the last award of the night and closing out the show over NewJeans who won both Song of the Year and Artist of the Year.

    Whew. There was a lot to unpack in what I watched.


    A couple of things, and it deadass was puzzling to me...


    - Why was a special award 100% decided on by Judges the final award? Shouldn't it be SOTY, AOTY or ALOTY?

    IVE or NJ should've gone last right? What was that?


    - Shameful that IVE and NJ got the black ocean from the crowd when they were doing their speeches.

    That was pathetic, and typical in the patriarchal and sexist society that exists in SK - don't @me either, you know that sh1ts bad over there (and everywhere for that matter).


    Btw, just my .02 - don't boy groups sell more because they have more album versions and generally have a more rabid fanbase? If we're talking about physical sales, NCT released 28 versions and over 600 photo cards. What is this fckin Pokemon?!?


    NJ and IVE did not match that version number instead those ladies did extremely well on charting and streaming. On overall impact alone, those two groups were much more deserving and each had a stronger case to win in that "Special Award" 100% decided by Judges. Judges made it cheap and a participation award. WTF was all that?


    One last thing - isn't Korea going through a huge trash problem right now anyway? Folks are discarding physicals to get the photo cards. They need to chill the fck out - FRFR.
