Isn't it weird that only two girlgroups managed to beat second gen touring numbers?

3rd gen is pretty much strong whatever way you look at it honestly it's stronger generation imo

Red Velvet not touring is so bizzare to me. I don't think they can do stadiums, but they could definitely do arenas. Like ffs, Mamamoo did an Arena tour

Red velvet kinda suprising, but imo that's what makes it obvious about who the biggest groups are.

Twice is not to be underestimated

Nothing surprising there has always been a gap between them and Pinktwice.

They used to struggle to sell albums before the albums inflation.

They lack touring power in japan, and they had their first arena in Korea. However SM completely killed their promo in the west, I’m sure they can held some arenas in the west.

Idk if yall remember this thing called covid that shut down public arenas and cut their capacity in half for two years……

3rd gen GGs were lacking in international fandom besides the Big 3 (BP, Twice, Red Velvet)

And in Japan only Twice was huge. BP was fine, RV was mid tier

And China was blocked for touring

So, not that surprising tbh

Pretty sure SNSD's numbers were proven made up, as the media reported that their two biggest tours only had 200k each.

Because groups like Red Velvet, Mamamoo and Gfroend have very little touring demand. They ride the wave of general Kpop popularity but fail to carve out genuine demand and relevance.

That's why their touring is shit.

This is true. Almost all of Big Bang, TVXQ and SNSDs touring numbers include max capacity and 100% sale rates which we know isn't actually possible.

Twice and Blackpink are simply two of the biggest kpop groups, let alone girl groups, ever. The groups of the 3rd gen that survived into now and still can compete with the 4th gen are pretty much untouchable. This really only includes Seventeen, BTS, BP, Twice, NCT, etc.

Few groups really have the status pull a "tour" off. It's easy for fans be believe their groups are more popular than they acctually are. Groups like BP, Twice, 2NE1, Girls' Generation, Kara and also I would say T-ara hade a status in contries like Japan that other groups just don't have.
