BLINK is such a HUGE fandom, the girls would never out right say they disbanded, so years (years...) down the line they can make a TV show reminiscing about their old songs and popularity whilst still being a group (but at that point Jisoo would be a renowned actor, Jennie a soloist, Lisa a soloist, Rose a Soloist).

and even by then if there is a whole other big group that somehow is breaking BP's records and has the big fandom like Blinks, AKP would still say BP is the biggest GG in the world.

That's my definition of soft disbanding: focusing on solo activities in different companies, not giving priority to the group, making a reunion comeback each 2 or 3 years for some kick buck and thats blackpink possibility if they don't officially disband. And no, they are the biggest girl group right now because newjeans is barely a 1 year old group, newjeans is competing in so many areas and taking away so many records that bp can't resist another year without making a very strong comeback. Only thing newjeans needs is a international hit song like dududu and they will become the biggest girl group without a doubt.

I had never seen kpop fans dismiss Bigbang as the biggest kpop boygroup in Korea when their members started going to the military in 2017 (they had a 5 year hiatus from group activities after enlistment). Only when BTS took over their records in 2019 did kpop fans recognise BTS as the top BG in Korea.

Like who knows Blackpink could have a comeback in 2028 and they still outdo every active girlgroup out there. Would that still dismiss them as the biggest GG?

The difference for SNSD is that their individual activities tbh isn't that huge except for Taeyeon for the music industry, whereas I foresee BP continue solo activities in the music industry (and thriving) while still being together as a group in name but in different companies.

But of course that is assuming that it happens it's a pure hypothetical scenario

The group we all know I'm talking about are already doing things we've never seen any girl group do, and especially not within their first year of activity.

Despite not making comebacks as often they still had some group activities and content, that and their tours was the content keeping the little unity between blinks and their subfandoms intact, what comes next for blackpink is the 4 of them separated in different labels with no world tours and no group activities except the possibility of a reunion comeback. And no matter how successful a group is, no matter how big the fandom is no group can't survive without group content long enough, the fans will scatter and put their attention on other groups sooner or later.

What we would say then?

Same thing happened to SNSD. They had a hiatus, then Twice and BlackPink happened, all the Girls Gen fans kept claiming that SNSD was still the top GG, until 2017 when they put out holiday, then we all knew, they were not the top GG anymore.

'Forever 1' in 2022 did well, so they may not be 'the top' group, but they are still a tier A group.

Maybe the same will happen with BP and Blinks.

We will see.

As of July 2023, Twice had already sold over 500K tickets for their world tour.

So they are now in second place, BP is still conformable in 1st place.

Twice will probably sell more than 1 million tickets, but likely will not catch BP who will sell over 1.5 Million by the time is all reported.

BP hiatuses are already 2 years between activities so I'd say by 2025,a new GG will be crowned by K-pop stans then adopted later by the majority

Born pink tour & Coachella/Hyde park headlining are a massive achievement that puts BP lightyears ahead of NJ

Even if BP 2024 releases are more of the same level of performance as TA/bp, the tour will still make like $600M & they will headline a bunch of festivals & those alone will guarantee BP holds on to the title for years to come
