I would say for the past year, yes more gg stans show this, its only to be expected with the top gg fandom being the biggest example of this + it will get worse once izone disbands and half their fandom become solo stans like the past other produce groups

They seems very eager to say member XYZ hardcarry the gorups popularity and people/public only care about that specific member
Meanwhile I don't see quite the same energy being used by BG stans, especially inside the same fandom. In reality I see more trolls talking about that than fans of Boygroups
Everyone knows BP has the worst akgae problem of any group. I'm actually relieved and surprised that we havent seen Rose stans and Lisa stans fighting over OTG vs Solo. Maybe because they each have dominated in their own ways, Jennie digitally while Rose physically and internationally.
But i dont see any other GG fandoms that have the same amount of akgae civil wars.
I think bg stans have less multis in general, that explain why their streaming numbers are lower relatively to their sales.
The less mutlis can also be taken to enforce OPs point since there wouldnt be as many comparisons becuase of this
Lol a lot of bg fans dont listen to their music, thats why their streams are low and ggs get more casual listeners then most bgs - mmo and svt spotify difference is an example of this imo

GG have a much lower shelf life than BG which is why public opinion of individual members is much more important to the fandoms than BGs.
A boygroup can be totally irrelevant to the public and still have a 15 year long career while even top girl groups can barely resign.
So this makes people overly obsessive with their bias and they want more and more for them as time goes on to make sure their faves solo branding is as strong as possible.

I think girls are compared much more often to each other than boys are in kpop. You see tons of articles, polls and fourm posts about who is the prettiest, best singer, IT girl, best body and so on. So naturally individual girls are also caught up in those comparisons whether it's how much they sold or who had more impact and shit

For non idols who still release every year Davichi have been a duo since 2008, brown eyed girls debuted in 2006 and are still together but they arent active as a group really. For a full idol group the oldest gg who still releases music every year is Apink and they debuted in 2011, so not even close to tvxq, suju, or bbs age as a group.

Not saying boygroup members aren't compared, but women are more compared to each other in general.
Yes we all know Blinks are a problematic fandom. But for others fandom the situation is not so bad. You can found some loud solo stan but there is still an overwhelming majority that supports all members of the group. I can tell you as Moomoos, the four girls are supported and loved so much in every solo and group project for example.
bg's have the same problem with solo stans/rankings/wars but i see more of the ggs stans being vocal on akp
They do compare a lot just... don't compare solos much
their stan wars are more focused of the groups instead of the members
I have rarely seen bg fans really compare each other that much in general. They just mainly talk about their own group. I don't check every bg thread here, but that is my general point of view.

I wouldnt take that as them being bigger since bgs usually get higher streams on bsides (even if they arent a lot) compared to ggs, monthly listeners and title track streams are the most important to me since they show how many people are listening and titles are usually the most important tracks. In the end it shows that more people listen to mmo titles then svts despite a huge fandom difference. Tho I could use another example to show it, take nct vs itzy. Cummaltive streams is hard since NCT debuted 3 years before itzy but despite this Itzy has 2 tracks over 100 mill streams while all of nct has none. In fact, if you put every nct and itzy song ranked in streams all 4 of itzy titles would be above every nct song.

Thanks for the info! I personally just getting into BEG because Dreamcatcher did a cover of abracadabra (relay dance) and I went and look for the original and some other stuffs. Gosh BEG has really good vocals! Didn’t know that they are one of the oldest active GG.
I haven’t check out Apink yet.
