Rosé "On The Ground" VS Jennie "Solo"
-

Both
-
Solo gave justice to Jennie's on screen persona... They nailed it...
On the ground is trying to make Rosie more mainstream than trying to bring Rosie forward... Gone, for now still feels better but I need to give more listens to OTG...
Part of me still wishes Rose had atleast one Korean song in that album... why did they miss on that entirely...

damn let the song sit with people a bit first lol

I think I wanted a little more out of On the Ground but I prefer it more than Solo. This might change tho
-
-
still Solo
-
Solo.
-
-
Solo, not even a competition...
-
let the song breath gosh

as the saying goes, too many cooks in the kitchen...

It lacks the impact (hearing it)

I disagree because on the ground has a more personal touch to it. The MV was just a visual storytelling to emphasise the lyrics.
-
Rose’s song hasn’t even settled on the ears yet, you are comparing. Both were great, I don’t understand people saying OTG did not fit Rose or it didn’t do her justice because for me I saw genuine happiness in Rose while singing the song, this song is for Rose and she did a great job with it. People should just appreciate this long awaited solo.
Solo by Jennie is still a timeless bop.

-
Solo for me. But on the ground is nice too.
-
solo was ICONIC
-
Solo.
Even though I'm in love with Rosé's vocals, it can only take the song so far when the song itself is very bland and forgettable.
-
Im not a blink, so in my unbiased opinion its solo.
On the ground is very forgettable. There was no moment where I was "wow". The MV was also forgettable. Idk why they didnt construct a story for it, its just 70% roses face and thats boring tbh.
Solo just had more character, as far as that goes for a kpop song. I think it was just more fitting for jennie, while roses song seems like something that was given to her to get over with the job. Kinda sad for her. She could have gotten something way better fitting for her.
-
I’ve only listened to OTG once so far. It didn’t have the instant impact that Solo had, but it’s a completely different type of song. It looked like the lyrics had a lot more depth and it seemed to suit Rosé well, but I didn’t find it particularly well put together as a song. I can see why a lot of people will like it. It might grow on me more. I sincerely hope she does really well with it!
I don’t think they’re really comparable as songs though. They seem to showcase very different sides of the two girls as artists, and I can see them appealing to very different types of people too.

I do recall loads of ppl not liking solo when it first came out, but it end up becoming a national anthem to some, that line bichi naneun solo is too iconic, so as that finger pointing dance. So I'll just say that maybe OTG needs warming up to
-
-
Solo. A bop.
-
MV- Solo. It had a nice dance break in the end and was more in sync with the song. It tells a story and captured jennie.
Song- OTG. I liked the song and lyrics more than solo but the mv was underwhelming asf. I really am a simp for good cinematography and the mv was abstract like a dream nothing stays after you wake up. Only the last part where she's floating looked nice.
