I thought it would be a non sense scandal as people take even flowers pics as shade, but this one....

I think both Ive and Idle deserve SOTY in all awards and the difference will be little, but come on, Love Dive is seating prettily at #1 annual Melon chart so it was obvious that they would win in MMA aka Melon Award.

It’s so easy to attack Ive but people aren’t coming for the other winners lol.

Love dive was so successful it deserved to win and if tomboy won that would have also made sense. There was a lot of hits this year so gidle losing even though having a success song isn’t rigged or anything

It's pretty distasteful. They had wonderful year but IVE had a wonderful year also and are slightly ahead on Melon, so it's not unfair that they won.

Even if they feel bitter, this should stay in drafts.

I have never seen in the 15 years since I've been into kpop see an idol or group that has publicly thrown shade at a daesang win. At the organizers, yes, but with their peers??? There is a clear difference between confidence and cockiness, and the latter is being displayed here. Not only are they stirring their fans to attack others, they're also burning bridges with Melon/MMA and for what? IVE fans voted and secured their favs SOTY win.

Minnie's comment might not be about this, but Shuhua is a little iffy, but it's best we don't jump to conclusions

I opened this expecting it to be the usual overreactions or things getting blown out of proportion but this is..um..maybe there's an explanation or something but it seems extremely distasteful of them. Love Dive deserved the awards and so did IVE in general.

Very interesting. If true in poor taste. Love dive was the bigger hit and the better song too.

So unprofessional. They're lucky that IVE has been a common punching bag lately - they would be crucified even more if it were any other popular group.

This is why celebs should have a pr team and not just post whatever first comes to mind on social media the moment they think them

Yep, I agree. It would've been no surprise if either of them won because seeing what we know, both were pretty heavy contenders.

But that last point is also very true. We're fans of an industry where anything idols say can be taken the wrong way.

Yeah, but services like Bubble, Vlive, Weverse are definitely not as heavily monitored by a PR team as Instagram, YouTube, stuff like that. There's been a lot of controversial things that have been said by idols through these services unfortunately and it has the ability to be much less filtered.

So idols could really get into trouble here if they're not careful.

Same here...I love (G)-IDLE but it's hard to defend this unless she was talking about something else. It's probably not the best idea to share it publicly because even within fan communications apps, it's going to get out because you'll have fans who aren't happy with certain behaviors.

yeah ik the idol industry banks on giving fans the illusion that they’re so much closer to their idols than the average celebrity, but it’s also a landmine of plausible pr nightmares and booby traps with how easy it is for the idols to directly address their fans without going through any pr filter. i just pray that my faves will never slip up for being thoughtless lol it certainly would lose a shine to them for me depending on how they deal with their mistakes

Yeah, true...I know that fans like the realism from these idol-fan connection services but it turns out that if an idol isn't careful and slips up, a whole batch of people would be on their tails because they didn't have an extra set of eyes protecting them. And I've seen people complain, users on here even, about how much idols' Instagram are filtered but are probably the type of person who would get mad when an idol does/says something offensive. Either keep the truth or have your faves' reputation dwindle. We can't have it both ways.

You could never be too careful as an idol. You constantly have people watching you like hawks, waiting for you to slip up so that they can swoop down and attack. This is one of those moments where people are going to go crazy when it blows up and it's going to be hard for fans to defend.

I love GIDLE and IVE but this was distasteful. gidle are sounding arrogant.
