I see it occasionally here (and tbh i contribute my fair share by misspelling older male talent names and callin them musty boomers and such, but this is mostly just for entertainment value and mostly against non idols like those rappers and balladeers and trottists clogging up the charts 
).
But i think it's very fashionable to do it on TW. I think some of it is just trolling or SJWs joking around, but some of it goes overboard. I remember seeing some female Onces claiming that some male Onces looked like serial rapists or incels or some other such crazy nonsense after a harmless pic of male Onces and some Twice members was uploaded.

It stems from the "I hate men" ideology and they believe men are given more opportunities or the public doesn't criticize them as much as females in kpop. Also, the fact many male idols have been exposed for their shitty behaviors (DUI, Cheating, SA, and so on) also contributes to it.
Eh, kpop stans in general are unnecessarily toxic to anyone that isn't their faves, there's idiots on both sides
I will say one thing though, and it's something that I keep seeing. The way the kpop community is comfortable with attacking idols who are minors is concerning. Like I can't explain how common it's become for me to see a younger idol being dragged for their skills, or their personality, or their looks. The fact that people are comfortable dragging literal children for their looks is gross. Especially due to the fact that they're still growing and as a teenager I know that one of the worst things with growing is getting used to the changes. Just try to imagine how they would feel seeing hit tweet after hit tweet of people joking about their facial features, or their weight or their personality or them making mistakes. Like I feel like because there are so many minors in kpop now, people are almost forgetting that they're kids and are constantly bashing them because of this.
Sorry for the sudden rant, but it's just creeped me out.

Ggs in kpop mostly have men to write them the songs, manage them, give them the looks and brands a good example is bp and yg/teddy .

I 'member that, the edgies started riffing on a couple of them being chubby or something and it just snowballed from there. And yeah it was a totally normal hi touch group photo with respectful distances and no creepy hands or anything. It was a US event too iirc so there's a good chance those guys saw it blow up on western stan twt, ouch

People making fun of charting and stuff happens to both bgs and ggs. It's nothing new.
Many gg stans have always been very toxic to everything except their faves.
I don’t know why this is so controversial. Most of the gg stans that take it too far are men at least from my personal experience. They hide behind a faux feminist ideology but are the first ones to hop on a female idol hate train. It happens in western and K-pop spaces all the time. Most gg stans (and bg stans) are cool tho the crazies just build their own spaces where their crazy is celebrated.
People here hating on ggs are also their fellow gg stans most of the time.

i dont stan any BGs currently as you can see, but it really sucks to see the kind of constant insult and berating male idols get from GG fans here for the most superficial things
if BG fans were on female idols' asses constantly ( as there are on twitter and such ) for the same things, they'd get cancelled to death
