I define generations by the groups debut date. I feel like first gen is the longest because it was were the concept of the kpop was established. I also put the .5 gens because I felt that their was a shift in the energy/vibe of the new groups debuting. But that shift was not significant enough for me to count them as a new gen.
Once an new generation starts it doesn't automatically mean that the older generations are now irrelevant. It just means that there is a large shift in trends and music of the newly debuted groups. The most recent example of this the shift from 3rd to 4th gen. 3rd gen is still largely dominating the industry and some groups have not even reached their peaks yet, but the shift in the groups debuting is still largely noticed. Most 4th gen groups can be described as dance/choreo heavy, experimental and having high social media presence.
Gen 1.0 (1992-1995)-Seo Taiji and Boys, Turbo....
Gen 1.5 (1996-2002)- HOT, SES, god, Fin.KL....
Gen 2.0 (2003-2007)- TVXQ, Big Bang, Brown Eyed Girls, SNSD...
Gen 2.5 (2008-2011)-2NE1, Infinite, 4Minute...
Gen 3.0 (2012-2014)-Exo, BTS, Mamamoo....
Gen 3.5 (2015-2017)-Twice, Seventeen, Blackpink, NCT...
Gen 4.0 (2018-present)-(G)i-dle, TXT, Aespa.....
The start and end dates are not definite and there are exceptions. For example groups who debuted at the end and the beginning of generations are still widely debated on which generation they belong to. I'm curious to see how other people sort generations especially with some people not believing that 4th gen has even started and multigenerational groups like NCT.

This isn't just for IZ*ONE but for all groups in general.
yeah ur right. This applies to a lot of 4th gen groups. IZ*ONE is just the one that came to mind because i haven't seen much material of them singing live while dancing. I honestly don't mind high backing track that much. I just appreciate the effort of trying to sing while doing such difficult choreo.

Maybe they always wanna focus on their dancing or maybe it's a company decision
i feel like it's probably a company decision.
These are ones I could find

I've noticed that in basically all the stages I've seen, when they are singing and dancing it's either the studio track or prerecorded. This isn't meant to bash the girls because I'm well aware that they are great singers based of produce 48 and their encore stages. Is this off the record's doing? Is it because the choreo is to difficult or...? If this is the case then, why doesn't the choreo get modified to make it easier for them to sing? It's just something that has been bugging me for a while. I'm more of a casual listener than a wiz*one so I haven't watched all of their performances. If anybody has a performance that can prove me wrong please drop it.

I honestly think with the chan one is just part of his personality. I also think that's why he's earned the titles of 'comfort idol' and "emotional support kpop boy" for alot of kpop stans. His people pleasing personality could be problematic if he had a job that required him to have solid and concrete views. But he's an idol so its more comforting and understanding.
Chan has shared before that he has insecurities within himself so that part is true. And also with the amount of hate he gets esp in the second half of 2019 its not surprising that he would try to be neutral as possible so no one gets mad. I've noticed a lot of idols do this to avoid controversy or getting cancelled.
I somewhat agree with the hyunjin and felix ones.
I honestly don't blame hyunjin for breaking down after woojin left. Being an idol is his dream and something that he's put a lot of time an effort into. And for someone who was once apart of that dream to leave on such short notice must be painful. Especially 1.5+ years into that career. Also, I feel like something must have happened behind the scenes that led him to have that reaction.
I feel like a lot of idols go overboard with the amount of devotion they give to their fans *cough* jungkook *cough*. Like I understand they pay your bills and sustain your career but sometimes it's a bit eerie. But i mean it's technically their job and they gotta do it well and if that means entertaining delulu fans then so be it.This is kinda unrelated but i find it funny how idols and companies cater to these delulu fans and then act surprised when those fans cross the line. Like what did u expect? If you don't set clear boundaries and keep entertaining these fantasies then this is going to keep happening. Obviously I don't want to blame the idols themselves since its more of a industry standard than anything else.
When I heard about how Felix became a trainee I was like how did his parents allow this?! Mine would've dragged me back home and made sure I didn't step foot out of the house. Maybe they're just laid back or didn't feel the need to deter him from that career path. I guess it was worth it though.
Since we don't know them personally this could just be over analyzing and us being clowns

Erm aespa, bling bling, secret number, weekly, stray kids ( I don't even like their songs but they can singggggggg) these are just the top of my head.
The weeekly girls were really out here singing live for their debut stage. Monday is especially impressive. For aespa i feel like i have to hear more material from them, but their from SM so I don't have a lot doubts. For secret number I think denise is the one that stands out the most and for bling bling its yubin and jieun.

- Hyunjin is a lil intimidating and I think hes super confident, I dont believe he doesn't like being a visual haha he seems to love it I think its just a story pushed by the company to reel fans in for his looks and to fall for his humbleness. His fan calls with cringe me too much and shows maybe he lacks some self respect with how he entertains delulu's and the way he broke down crying after the woojin thing asking fans to never leave just made me see some insecurity in him that he has no reason for existence expect being an idol?? idk I love him tho so he deserves to be an idol, but his behaviour seems questionable sometimes
- Chan is too much of a people pleaser that I dont think he even has his own opinions he looks like he just agrees with the majority all to keep peace, but this shows insecurity in himself
- Felix seems like a spoiled person, especially with how he literally thought fuck my parents, fuck my education, im flying to korea to become an idol even tho my parents said no lmaooo im not complaining tho he gives them that edge
where'd you get your psychology degree bestie

- I don't like Good lil boy and To the beat
y-y-you mean the best songs on the album
- I agree
- I'm pretty sure jeongyeon is the only one in twice with classical training. She has the best control over her voice and breath support in twice along with jihyo. I think she doesn't get as many lines as she deserves.
