Why is this thread 24 pages?
Anyway, most people here seem to be missing the fact that its not black and white. TXT has benefited from their association with BTS, but it would have taken them nowhere if they didnt have merits of their own.
MOAs denying that TXT benefited from BTS privilege are wrong. And it didnt stop after Crown. Many armys are still (or were, until the big ARMY-MOA wars) more likely to give a chance to TXT than other kpop groups. Both because of the BTS association and because the relations between fandoms used to be civil. They did get exposure among armys, many of whom became casual listeners or fans. Even in this spring there was lots of armys on my tl who dont identify as MOAs checking out and liking Freeze. And it makes perfect sense, if you consider the fact that TXT shares a big part of their producers with BTS. If I love Slow Rabbit's or El Capitxn's work, why wouldnt I check out what theyve done with TXT? It has a different flavour, but there is a commonality to BTS and TXT's music. Same with the universe building. It doesnt take away from BTS members achievements to admit there is a creative team that contributed to all that we love about their output. So TXT also benefited from sharing BTS's creative team.
TXT themselves admit they have BTS privilege, so I dont get what is there to deny.
On the other hand, all this exposure would amount to nothing if TXT and their music was tragic enough to turn off all the listeners. We've seen that exposure doesnt always end up in success or growth. Theres been several groups leeching off of BTS's global impact, getting way more exposure then TXT and it took them nowhere since the music wasnt good enough. Even the fact that TXT started blowing up atfer Blue Hour and Freeze and not after their previous eras shows its related to their actual content, not only to the amount of exposure.
