Why girlgroup stans pay no or less attention to bsides?
-

A lot of casuals. I only listen to the b-sides of my faves. Other girl groups I only listen to title tracks.
-
-
the b sides normally are better than the title track, so i listen to them instead

But some of the ggs do have solid fandom. Bsides are streamed by fandom mostly

I guess it depends on why they like the group. I know for some groups, b sides tend to be where they show off different genres/charms/abilities so it may deviate from the concept or type of their title tracks. Like I just started Everglow's discography and listened to their first two releases... their title tracks are bombastic and hype, but their b sides are more chill or ballads. If you're just looking for that certain type of music that's a good reason why some skip b sides.

I won't be suprised if some gg stans are like that lol.

I think you're underestimating the amount of casual fans and casual listeners in K-pop
-
Cuz I would rather listen to their a=sides
-
-
gg have more casual listeners than like fandom power I guess.

U don't check out the bsides ever of your faves?
-
-
-
I didn't know they didn't?
I guess I could see how there might be a larger percentage of casual fans in the girl group fan sphere.
But I think there's still a solid core of fan and stans listen to deeper discographies.
I imagine most of the stans who consider themselves part of the girl group fandoms would generally listen to the discographies.

Exactly

Once, and I already forget more than half of them
Happens to me too lol. I listen and then forget
-

-
I won't be suprised if some gg stans are like that lol.
at that point I wouldn't really call them a stan...
but each to their own
-
-
i guess it just depends on what you consider a stan.
-
If anything that shows I already forget those old Twice albums

There are few acts that I will check out the bsides. For boys it’s just TXT. For GGs, it’s G-idle, Le Sserafim, Red Velvet for me. Their b-sides (actually their whole albums) are such good music to me. So even if I don’t stan them, there are groups that I like their music and have their albums on repeat.
(It goes without saying that I’ve checked other acts once but a lot of them don’t have music that made me want to have it on repeat). *I do like some Twice, Ikon, Enhyphen, Dreamcatcher, BP’s b-sides too. But not all.
So I think a lot of people do check out GGs b-sides but not as many as the ones checking out their tts.

can't relate

I'm not saying EVERYTHING, but if you consider yourself a stan of the group, I find it hard to believe you haven't heard (and liked) more than just the title tracks. At that point we might as well call the GP stans of the group if a song from that group hits the top 10. We don't though, cause stanning implies they'll also have some sort of loyalty.

oh yeah, then i agree. i thought you meant everything. obviously i'd say you'd have to at least show some sort of interest past the title tracks, i just don't think you have to be a master of bside naming to call yourself stan. like you said, if they feel that loyalty- more power to them. but i don't the loyalty applies through just the music aspect, if they're willing to spend on them through their personalities and tts alone and call themselves a stan, i won't lose any sleep.

Both stream b sides. But I guess your question is mostly about numbers. BG's stans are really dedicated and are real stans. Fandom culture is much more important. GGs have stans too but most of their fan have low dedication. Fandom culture is less important.
You just have to see on this forum, when some female groups are not very active, all their "stans" disappear and suddenly come back when the group comes back or has good results. Just look at the number of (G)I-DLE fans who disappeared last year and are suddenly all fans again since a few weeks.
Many people also have trouble with the word "stan" and say they stan some groups without really knowing what it means, and that's even more true among the GGs since the fandom culture is less strong.

Dude, my fandom card would be be revoked if this were a thing. I can't even compete at guess the screenshot

Wait... that sounds like you are saying GG tend to have more success stans ... or am I interpreting that incorrectly?
